The Following Morning....
You'd been awoken by a terrible scream. You quickly shot up, and looked both your sides. You looked into the fort, but Wendy was still fast asleep.
You then noticed it was still quite dark inside, a bit of the breeze was coming in too. You were curious of the scream, so you pulled a blanket over yourself, and slowly tiptoed out the room, leaving the door creaked.
You looked around, and noticed a light coming out from the bottom of a door. Ludwig's door. You walked closer, and put an ear to the door.
"You ok?" You asked, while yawning.
"No! I'm not ok!" He cried. "What's wrong?" You asked. "I...I can't tell you!" He mumbled. "Why?" You questioned quietly. "I...I just can't...I'll be embarrassed..." Ludwig muttered.
You turned the door knob, opened the door, and walked in. You then noticed Ludwig's face covered by a paper bag. "What's wrong with you?" You asked.
"It's... My hair...it's horrifying..." He stated. "Are ya joking? What could possibly be horrifying about your hair? It's perfect." You stated.
"Well...not today." He mumbled. You got closer, and aimed for getting the bag off his head, but before you did, he backed away and took out his wand.
"Don't make me use it!" He growled. You took a step a back. "I'm just trying to help..." You mumbled. He sighed. "Fine." He stated in defeat. He took off the paper bag, revealing his hair being frizzy and puffy.
"Oh, yeah. I knew about that." You stated. "What?! Why didn't you tell me?!" Ludwig asked. "Because I knew how you'd react." You answered plainly, now sitting on his bed.
"Do you know how long it's gonna take me to undo it all?!" He questioned. "A couple of hours?" You asked. "Days! Maybe months, maybe years, maybe DECADES!" He exaggerated. You rolled your eyes.
"It'll only take a bit if we go to a hair salon, or some place to fix it." You suggested. "Alright, let's go!" He stated.
"What? We can't go in pyjamas, and besides it's too early." You stated, while pointing out the window, the sun beginning to rise.
"Look. It's never too early for dealing with hair, besides who cares if we're in our pj's? We've done worser things. And the hour doesn't matter, when I say open the store, I mean open the store!" Ludwig growled.
"Alright. Drive me there then." You replied plainly. "Fine." He mumbled. He grabbed your arm, pulled you out into the hallway, and then proceeded to walk downstairs.
"Poor Luddy and his frizz." You stated quietly. "Hush. No one needs to know." He whispered, as you two reached the entrance to the castle. You went out, then to the garage, where a dark blue kart was, just waiting to be turned on.
"I'm guessing that's yours." You stated. "Right." He nodded. You two got in, and soon he'd started it.
"Do you think I'm crazy?" He asked, out of the blue. You shrugged. "We might all just be crazy." You said plainly.
He stayed silent for a moment, then nodded. "You could be right. I don't know anybody who could be considered....'normal'." He said. You nodded.
After about fifteen minutes in the car, the two of you had reached the Mushroom City. Ludwig had parked the car in some parking lot where he had to pay two coins, then you got off along with him.
The city was beautiful, especially since it was still dark out. The lights shone like stars in the skies, and the skyscrapers, really stood out. In the middle of the city, there was a huge bright Invincible Star statue. Every few seconds the lights that surrounded it, would change color. Just as the item did itself.
"It's beautiful." You mumbled. You never really had a chance to go to the city, and just stand back to look at it, and simply be amazed. "We don't have time for this..." Ludwig mumbled, having the urge to reach the hair salon.
"Go ahead if you want, I'll just..." You doze off, and sat at a nearby bench, observing the city from your seat. "There's noway I'm leaving you. Not here alone" He stated.
You looked over at him, and raised an eyebrow. "How come?" You asked. "Well...uhh...it's illegal to stay out in the city with pyjamas." He blurted out. You knew that wasn't true.
"And I'm guessing it's also illegal to breath." You joked. "Well... No, but...come on!" He stated. He grabbed your arm, and pulled you until you got off the bench.
"Fine." You groaned. You stood up, and followed his lead. "You can let go of my hand now." You said calmly. "Uhh...noway, I'm cold." He said, while sending you a cheesy smile.
"Right." You muttered. After a while of walking some blocks, the two of you reached the hair salon's door. "Open! We're just in time!" He said excitedly, running into the salon.
You looked down at your hand, and sighed, before following him in. "So...who's in for the haircut?" The barber asked. "Me!" Ludwig said.
She gave him a strange look, before telling him to sit at a seat, and that she'd be there in a few minutes. After lots of preparations, the grooming started.
You sat at the waiting area, and picked up a magazine. You looked to your left and noticed a somewhat older-looking lady next to you.
"Can you imagine having that much hair?" She asked quietly. You shrugged. "You're a lucky gal, you probably get to do stuff to his hair all the time." She joked. You raised an eyebrow.
"On the contrary." You chuckled. She smiled. "Well maybe one day he'll trust you enough." She said. Doubt it, you thought.
"I don't think so ma'am. But we can all hope." You replied. She nodded. After a few hours, Ludwig's hair was all fixed up.
"Finally" You sighed. "Hey, large hair isn't something easy to manage." He stated, patting it. "Let's just go." You said. As you two exited, you waved to the old lady. She waved back.
"Who was that?" Ludwig asked, as you two walked down the block. "A nice lady I met while you were getting your baby done." You explained.
"Baby?" He questioned, giving you a strange look. "You know." You said, pointing to his hair. "Well that's not it's name." He rolled his eyes. "Are you suggesting it has one?" You asked, now you were giving him a strange look.
"Well even if it did, it wouldn't be called 'baby'. That's something a guy would call his girlfriend. But I wouldn't. That'd be awkward for her, don't you think?" He asked.
You thought. Just imagine one of the guys calling you "baby". No. No you can't. That's just weird. "Agreed." You nodded. After a few blocks, you'd reached the kart, and by the time you two were back at the castle, it was almost eleven o'clock.
