It was noon and I had been trapped in the house for three days straight, so I asked to borrow the keys to my parents' old pickup truck so I could take a drive. Boy did I need it. Since I'd been feeling pretty shitty lately, I thought it would be a good idea to go to a few places I love. I first went to Gallery Affero, which is a really cool art gallery downtown. I'm not quite sure why I love art galleries so much but for some reason they always put me in a better mood. It mesmerized me looking at all the incredible artwork from the Rosie the Riveter painting to just simple colorful painted canvases. It reminded me that art doesn't have to be complex, what makes art itself is the uniqueness of it, which is what I love most about it. Something must've hit me while I was there because I got a feeling I was making a terrible mistake. Once I figured out what it was, I dialed Gerard immediately.
"Hello?"
"Hey Gerard it's me. How far are you from Newark at the moment?"
"Uh, we're headed to New York to play at a small gig. Why?"
"Great. I'll arrive at Grand Central by train. See ya in a few," and with that I was off to NYC. I don't belong in Jersey. I belong on tour.
