EPILOGUE

Aiden's POV

I can't sleep. I'm thinking about the things that will happen tomorrow. What if something bad happens?

I glanced at the wall clock. It's 12:15. Shall I call Lyza? What if she's already sleeping? I want to see her. Or maybe hear her voice.

Umupo ako sa kama at kinuha ang cellphone ko. I dialed her number and wait for her to pick up. Mga ilang sandali lang ay sinagot niya ito.

Napangiti ako. Siguro hindi rin siya makatulog?

"Hello?"

"Hi, babe. I'm surprised you're still awake."

"I can't sleep."

"Hmm. Me, too. What are you thinking?"

"I'm thinking about tomorrow."

Napangiti ako. Parehas pala kami ng iniisip.

"Are you nervous?"

"Hmm, a little. But I'm excited."

"You're excited to be Mrs. Searrs, huh?"

Narinig ko ang mahinang pagtawa niya mula sa kabilang linya. "Well, you can say that. By the way, bakit ka pala napatawag?"

"Tulad mo, hindi rin ako makatulog. I want to see you."

"Pero masyado ng gabi. Saka hindi tayo pwedeng magpuyat. Dapat nga natutulog na tayo ngayon, eh."

I chuckled. "Too bad, we can't sleep."

Natahimik kami ng ilang saglit. Tanging mga paghinga lang namin ang naririnig ko. Napangiti ako. The sound of her breathing makes me feel alive.

"Hmm, babe?"

"Yes, babe?"

"Remember what I asked you before? Noong unang beses mo akong nakita sa boutique ni Mommy?"

Bahagya akong napaisip. "Hmm, 'yong kung bakit ko napagpasyahang tulungan ka?"

"Oo. You didn't answer my question back then. Ano nga ba ang dahilan?"

"It's because I already love you back then. Ayoko ng iwan ka. Gusto ko lagi kitang kasama... kaya ako pumayag na samahan ka sa paghahanap sa taong mahal mo. Ang sakit pa nga noon. Kasi habang hinahanap mo ang lalaking mahal mo, nandoon lang ako, hinihintay na dumating ang araw na maisip mong ako 'yong hinahanap mo."

"And that day happened. I found you... my right one."

I smiled. "And you'll be marrying your right one... tomorrow."

She chuckled. "Right. So, shall we sleep now?"

Napakunot-noo ako. "You don't want to talk me already?"

"Hindi naman sa ganoon. Ano lang kasi... you know. Your soon-to-be wife needs her beauty sleep right now so that she'll look beautiful in front of you tomorrow."

Napanguso ako. "But your soon-to-be husband said that you look beautiful even if you don't put any make-up on or even if you don't sleep early."

Tumawa siya ng mahina kaya natawa na rin ako. "Aiden naman, eh. Ang panget kaya kapag ang laki ng eyebags ko."

"No, babe. You look beautiful. You always look beautiful."

"Oo na. Sige na. Naniniwala na 'ko. Matulog ka na rin kasi mas mauuna ka sa simbahan bukas."

"Okay, babe. Don't be late tomorrow, okay?"

"Yes, babe. I won't be late. Goodnight. I love you."

Napangiti ako. "I love you more, babe. Sobrang mahal na mahal kita. I can't wait to marry you."

"I know, right?"

Pagkatapos ng pag-uusap namin ay nakangiti akong humiga sa kama. Mukhang makakatulog na ako ng maayos ngayon. I already heard the voice of my soon-to-be wife. Alam kong makakatulog ako agad.

I can't believe I'm going to marry the love of my life tomorrow. I can't wait to marry... my right one.
