The next day I woke up to the smell of bacon- something that never happened with Jim.

I quickly got dressed and then headed to the kitchen. I watched silently for a second as Stiles stood at the stove. "Good morning." I finally said, though it came out weak and dry.

I guess I scared Stiles because within a split second, there were a few pieces of bacon on the floor.

"Jeez, Ryder. Don't do that." He picked up the spoiled bacon and tossed it in the trash, a hurt look on his face like he had just lost a dear friend.

"Sorry." I mumbled. "I didn't mean to mess up your bacon."

He sighed and looked at me. "Don't worry about it." A smiled appeared on his face. "Ready for school?"

I felt frozen to my seat. I was overwhelmed by all of the people. My old school was very small and had maybe 100 kids in each grade but this school had as many kids in one grade as we had in the whole school. I heard Stiles get out of the car beside me but I couldn't move.

"What are you waiting for, Bay?" My brother's voice came from the back seat.

"Not now, Conrad. I can do this by myself."

"If you really could, I wouldn't be here. Remember? I'm all from inside here." He poked my temple, signalling that he wasn't real.

"Just get out of here until school is over. I don't want to be written off as the crazy girl on my first day!"

"Okay, okay. But you technically are crazy so..." He disappeared before I could hit him. I then noticed Stiles and Scott standing in front of the car, talking and glancing at me worriedly. I took a deep breath and opened the car door. Stiles visably sighed with relief.

"I thought I was going to have to force you inside." A small chuckle was heard from his mouth.

"And here is your schedule. Enjoy your first day!" I honestly wanted to punch this lady in the face. She had a big smile on her face that was clearly fake.

"Thanks," I mumbled as I turned on my feet to find Scott and Stiles smiling strangely. "What?"

They both reached forward and took both of my arms. "Time for Beacon Hills famously wonderful chemistry class." By the mischievous smile on both of their faces, I knew that chemistry was going to be far from wonderful.
