I sat up in "my room" looking at an old picture from just after my birth. My mom was holding me and my dad and Conrad were next to her. My whole life - or what I thought was my life - this picture was the only evidence that I ever had a family. I remember holding it in the basement at my adoptive father's house and having to fold it and hide it.

I still couldn't believe none of that was real.

I didn't recognize Conrad because he looked so much different, so much older. When I realized who my parents were, 16 years of memories came flooding back into my brain. I could vividly remember my whole life here and it was as if I had actually lived it.

Maybe because you actually did live it, I thought to myself.

Even though I remember my real life, the life that I had dreamed about, the one with werewolves, was still easily remembered. Usually after I wake up from a dream, I can't remember anything from it.

"Ryder! Hurry up! We're gonna be late!" I heard my brother call from downstairs.

Late for what? I asked myself. I looked at the calender on the wall and realized I probably had school today.

"Shoot," I mumbled under my breath," Okay! I'll be down in a minute!" I called.

I opened my drawers and closet looking for something to wear to school and settled on a really cute outfit, quickly putting it on and grabbing what I remembered as my backpack. I pulled on some boots and ran downstairs. My mom threw me an apple as I ran out the door. "Thanks Mom!"

I pulled myself into the car. "Finally! Jeez, how long does it take to get ready?!" My brother pulled the car out of the driveway and drove off.

At school, two girls ran up to me and started talking 10 mph. I couldn't get a single word they were saying since not only were they talking really fast but they were talking at the same exact time. I remembered them to be Stevie and Edie (who's real name is Edith but she hates that name so she insists on people calling her Edie), my two of my three best friends. I just let them keep talking, nodding my head every so often.

"Guys, I have to get to class but I will talk to you later, ok?" More like listen, I thought, walking away.

I made my way to my first period class, English, and entered the classroom.

"Ryder!" I looked over to my other best friend, Oliver. He was almost exactly like my brother and every time he came over, I had to listen to them talk nerd. The only difference between them was Oliver had dirty blonde hair, not brown and Oliver had deep green eyes, not blue.

I went over and sat down next to him. "Hey Oli." I said.

"Hey, do you wanna come over after school? My mom made brownies..." He said, wiggling his eyebrows.

"I guess..." I said sarcastically.
