*jc's pov*
The line to board the plane was short. My anxiousness just made it seem ten times longer. We were finally here, on our way back home together.
"This is so crazy." Selena shook her head slightly. She was right, this was crazy. I mean sure she had already met my family, but then she was just what they called my "current girlfriend" who lived down the street; while now, she'll be staying with us as my serious girlfriend.
"You'll be fine." I tried to reassure her. "They love you as it is already."
"I'm just nervous." Her little shoulders shrugged. "Our entire relationship has been so weird in their eyes." And that couldn't be more true. All they knew was the bad, which was entirely my fault. They knew the breakups, the fights, the constant struggles. Sadly, they didn't know the makeups, the great days, and the great girl I had.
"Where's your ring?" I glanced at her bare finger. That wasn't normal, which made my heart sink to the bottom of my stomach.
"Here." She smirked, pulling at a slim chain around her neck. "My finger shrunk a bit and it kept slipping off at work."
"We'll get it resized soon. You've been looking thinner, I didn't know you could lose weight in your fingers though." I laughed.
"Gotta see it to believe it." She laughed, throwing her hand in my face.
"You're such a dork." My head shook.
"If by dork you mean very cute dork that you love oh so much." She shrugged her shoulders, throwing her hands up.
"Something like that." I shot her a wink.
The line was steadily moving and before I knew it, we were boarded. I threw our carry on's into the over head compartment while Selena wiggled her way to the window seat. This was a little weird for me, this was the first flight where I didn't leave her at the security check point.
"I can't believe we're going back." She sighed lightly.
"Scared?"
"A little bit. Mostly nervous."
"Don't be." I gave a squeeze to her hand. "It'll all be okay."
"And if it's not?"
"That's crazy talk."
"Jc, your family only knows the bad. They know the fights, us constantly breaking up, all the heartbreaks and crying. They don't know the us we do. I know how these things go."
"Then we'll use this week to show them the us we know. When was the last time we had a huge fight?"
"The other day!"
"That was over a donut Sel." I couldn't help but laugh at the seriousness in her face.
"It was my donut and you ate it!" She was trying to hold back a laugh.
"And I bought you another one did I not?"
"Alright alright, you're right."
"Aren't I always?"
"No!"
"I beg to differ honey buns."
"Bite me."
"Just tell me where."
*******
Four hours and three naps later, the awful flying beast had finally landed. I was home. We were home. My excitement was skyrocketing by the minute. I was back home, in Texas, with my girlfriend.
"Jc, come on!" Selena huffed, tugging at my hand nearly pulling my arm out of its socket.
"Baby baby baby, chill!" I laughed. "Baggage claims takes forever, you know that."
"I know! But there's food in the terminals and I'm starving." She pouted.
"You're always starving." I rolled my eyes. "We'll get you fed soon enough."
Within minutes, we were off the plane and on our way to feeding my tiny little beast. I swear, this girl does nothing but eat! Yet, she's losing weight like crazy too? I wish I could do that, eat and lose weight. I eat and get fat. Jc Caylen fat? That doesn't even sound right.
"Is it weird that I'm so nervous I almost feel sick?" Selena broke my train of thought.
"It might just be the fact that you ate a little too fast. Didn't I just buy you that burger 30 seconds ago?"
"It was the best 30 seconds of my day."
"But you've been with me all day."
"And your point is?"
I couldn't do anything but laugh. She was such a smart ass, always had a way with words. God I love this girl too much.
"I'm nervous too. I know you've briefly met my mom and my siblings, but this times different." I shrugged my shoulders at the thought.
"It's different?"
"Very different. I'm introducing you to them as my girlfriend. You're coming home with me as my girlfriend."
And hoping leaving with me as my fiancée.
