The Pills I'm Taking

I roll over, shoving my face into the pillow, and let out a frustrated sigh. I can feel Gerard gently begin to trace a pattern on my back, soothing my irritation, as I roll back over.

"Guess we lost the moment, huh?" he smirks at me.

"Guess so."

He gestures his hand, telling me to lay closer to him, and I comply, scooting my body closer to his, and snuggling into his side. He puts his arm around me, his hand slowly moving up and down my arm, and he kisses my forehead, before we both fall into a light sleep.

Mikey's been acting strangely today, at first I thought it was just about what happened yesterday with his brother and I, but Gerard's not at school today, either. I'm starting to think maybe that's what's up. Mikey wouldn't act this way about what happened, he'd just try to tease me, I know it. Something's wrong.

I approach Mikey after our sixth period, and he's talking to that new girl, Alicia, that's he's supposed to show around. I can faintly hear Mikey making a stupid pun, and see Alicia giggling, and batting her eyelashes at him. Oh. It's like that.

"Hey, Mikes!" I shout out after him, jogging the rest of the way to him, "Can I talk to you," I glance over at Alicia, "..alone, for a second..?"

"Uhh," he looks panicked, like he doesn't know what to do. I knew something was up with him. "I- I guess.."

I pull him over with me, to where we're standing against the lockers, and ask him what's up.

"What do you mean?"

"Goddamnit Mikey! You know what I mean! Why are you acting so weird, and why isn't Gee at school today!" he swallows a lump in his throat as he actually hears me explain, confirming what he didn't want me too notice.

"I- Frank.. Gee overdosed after you left last night. I was so scared to tell you.."

"What!? He did? Is he okay!? Where is he?"

Mikey sighs, "He's fine Frank, he's asleep at the house now. But we had to take him to the hospital late last night, to get his stomach pumped. I found him on his bathroom floor, passed out."

"Oh- Oh my god.." I feel my heart shatter inside my chest. Gee overdosed. I feel a lone tear escape down my cheek. He could've died.

I can see the hurt in Mikey's eyes, too. I reach out for him, trying to hold myself up, and he grabs my arm. Pulling me closer to him, and supporting my weight. Oh my god.

I need to see Gee.

Really short chapter, I know. I just felt like I should cut it off there, though. Sorry if it sucks, by the way. Kinda tired, I've just been really drained lately, from everything. D: I'll try to update sooner this time..
