Chapter 10: By Chance or By Chance?

“Edward, Bella? Who owns the car parked in front of our house?” Sarah asked as soon as she enters their small abode.

Reaching their living room, she saw a young man clad in jeans and polo shirt sitting, nervously clasping and unclasping his hands.

“Good Evening, uhm, Ate Sarah?”

Before she could ask who the heck he is and what he is doing in their house, her sister came out of the room and greeted her, “Hi Ate, glad you’re home.” then kissed her on her cheek.

She raised her eyebrow, throwing a questioning look towards Bella.

“Uhm, yeah, introductions. Ate, I would like you to meet Seth, my boyfriend. Seth, meet the best sister in the world, Sarah.”

Hearing how Bella introduced her to this Seth, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes. She knows her sister is trying to get on her good side and is tactfully asking her to be kind towards this kid.

“Good Evening once again, Ate. I’m very pleased to meet you, and, uhm, you’re very pretty as well.”

She dismissed the praise that the kid gave her and gave him a pointed look. “So, you’re the infamous boyfriend? Finally we meet”

”Uhm, Ate, come on. Let’s eat. Seth brought some food.” Bella immediately held her arm and lead her towards the table.

Sighing, she gave in. “Alright, let’s go. Seth, we still have to talk.”

“Sure, Ate.”

Hmn. She kinda likes the guts of this kid. Though it shows that he is nervous, he tried his best to meet her eyes every time she would ask him something. Bella and Edward are pretty much silent during dinner, leaving the conversation to the two of them.

When she decided to let go of what happened, along with it came her forgiveness for her sister and her boyfriend. During one of their conversations when she was released from the hospital, her sister told her that she would invite her boyfriend to their home to meet her. According to her sister, he has been requesting to meet her, it’s her sister is the one who doesn’t want to.

Through their conversation, she found out that he doesn’t have any idea or clue that her sister was pregnant and had a miscarriage. His parents took him for a trip outside the country so he was shocked when he got back and found out about what happened to her sister. Bella has been avoiding him during those times because of her condition and was able to make amends with her when he came back.

“Ate, I know what happened was unacceptable; but if you would give me a chance, I’ll prove to you my good intentions toward Bella. I am willing to wait till we finish our studies and marry her when we reach the right age.”
