••••Arrissa Forrest•••

I run. I run so fast. I run so fast that my paws begin to bleed. I run with a fire.

My mind races back and forth. To the time of my mother's tragic death, to Arctic entering the pack, to my nightmare, to now. Everything seems so real. My wrist burns furiously, and I know that I can't hide the word, Matrix, engraved in my arm forever.

When I arrive at the pack, I don't know what to do. I want to go to everyone, but know I cannot.

What would Keenan say?

How would Cameron react to this?

Was it some kind of misunderstanding?

A dream maybe?

The pain was too real.

I hurry to my house. Surprised to find it empty. Cam must be somewhere, maybe the pack house, negotiating deals, or plotting land.

But Arctic on the other hand?

I hand no idea where she was.

And I sure as hell didn't trust her with my pack.

•••Keenan Peter•••

I knew Arctic.

Well at least, somewhat knew her.

Vaguely.

Her family set fire to my old pack.

Her family of werewolves.

•••Cameron Forrest•••

I walk home from the pack house. I can't think straight anymore. There was so much going on in my head. I felt weak and vulnerable.

I didn't feel like an alpha.

As I walk towards my house, that contained a much needed bed, I hear Arrissa run out, hysterical, grasping her wrist with her hand.

"We need to talk-" she huffs.
"We need to talk, we need to talk."

I see a look in her eyes. One that's never been there before.

And she frantically leads me into our house.

•••Arrissa Forrest•••

I take Cameron inside and sit him on the couch. I pace back and forth, my finger in my mouth.

"Something's happened," I say, "something bad."

"I'm sure it's just-" I show him my wrist with the word Matrix engraved in my flesh.

"You're sure it's just what? A joke? Some kind of sick prank?"  He stares wided-eyed. Grabbing my arm, he gently runs his thumb over the indent in my flesh.

"Holy shit."

Taking my hand, he leads me out the door.

I knew this one word, would make my time as a Luna impossible

We arrive at the library.

As soon as walk towards the ginormous building, I could sense something wasn't right. The air is tinted with a putrid smell, one that turns my stomach.  A large crowd is gathered in an arch in front of the doors. Pointing and gasping, pushing their children behind them, telling them to keep their eyes shut, or to run back home. Dragging me by my arm, Cam pushes through, shouting at people.

But he stops dead in his tracks.

I approach his side. And I too, freeze.

Hanging from the library door, is a little wer boy.

Knives violently piercing his flesh.

And blood dripping from his dead, limp body.
