The trip ended too soon.Or at least it feels like it.
After the first day, which was absolutely crazy, the day after flew bye as we did the all day relay race.
It was one of the funniest things I've ever done.
The games we played were all group activities:
Two legged raceHuman ring toss (throwing hoola hoops at people, hoping it will land on them)
Charades (random, I know)
And Tug of war.
Whoever won tug of war won a trophy which was of course made of plastic.
Each team went against another.
Our team made it to the finals. The two teams left were us and Kailey's team.
Between our team full of guys who's muscles are bigger than their heads, and a very angry and determined April, we easily won.
When the match started, we picked up the rope, but didn't pull.
The reason we didn't pull wasn't because we wanted to win the easy way, it was because we are stupid and weren't paying attention to the whistle.
By time we realized that the game had started, Kailey's team had already pulled on the rope with all their strength and toppled over.
We simply just pulled the rope back over to our side, winning the game.
The smile on our faces were extremely large.
The little plastic trophy meant so much to us. We had not only won the camp games, but we won something else. And as cheesy as it sound, we won friendship.
All the fighting and arguments subsided during our time in the camp.
So we ended the night around a warm and cozy fire, eating burnt marshmallows, and laughing.
The smile on my face just wouldn't go away.
The school year is basically halfway done. In just a few more months, this will no longer be a thing.
Our little group of friends will break apart as we go off to college.
Don't get me wrong... I'm excited about college, I've been taking college classes since junior year. That way I will graduate college two years early.
And Joey seems excited too. He too has been taking college classes for two years now.
But, I still am going to miss this. Miss high school.
