"You did what?!" April asks loudly, and excitedly."Was it stupid? I know what you are thinking. It was stupid." I say embarrassed.
"What! No, I'm proud of you. It's about time you two got some action." She says, punching my shoulder.
"I wouldn't exactly call it action, it was more of just me- caressing... It." I say.
"What did it feel like? Was it big?" She asks.
"I don't know." I say embarrassed.
"Come on. I'm your best friend. You can trust me." She says.
I sigh before spilling the beans.
"It was big. Bigger than I thought. And it was hard. I was so freaked out, cause, I've never been that.. friendly with one."
"Well, it sounds like you are gonna have fun." She says.
I blush.
"You can't tell anyone though." I say.
"Of course not. If I were ever to tell, you have my permission to punch me in the face." She laughs.
I laugh with her.
I love this so much. Our friendship. Our bond.
Today, we are doing our usual after school hangout.
We went for frozen yogurt today.
So we sit in the small and dainty shop while we devour our delicious yogurt.
"I've been thinking." I say.
"About what?" She asks.
"How everything is going to change after graduation."
April's smile fades away.
"Well, not everything is going to change. We still live in range of each other. You can always come and see me." She says.
I stay silent.
"Kristen, what is it?" She asks.
I shake my head.
"Look, if you aren't ready to tell me what's on your mind, then don't. I'll always be here. My ears are always open. You can talk to me. About anything." She says, comforting me.
