It's the end of my first day. Classes with Scott and Stiles weren't eventful really. Except for the part where they left me to go to lacrosse practice. I look around the halls of the schools. Very lost. People walk by not even looking to help me. Showing no concern for me whatsoever.
It's been determined. High school sucks in every city.
"Lost?"
I turn around to see a pretty girl with a friendly smile on her face. I sigh in relief.
"A bit. Yea," I riposte. "I'm looking for the lacrosse field."
"I'm headed there too. I'm Allison Argent."
I grin. "Aura McCall."
"McCall?"
"Yep. Scott McCall is my brother."
"Good to know. Let's go."
We walk out of the building and to the fields. I look at Allison.
"I'm new here too," she tells me. "I started yesterday."
"Well, I'm a total fish out of water here."
She laughs. "Stick with me and you'll be alright."
Another girl walks up beside Allison. I sit behind her in Chemistry. She looks me over and the corner of her lips.
"Cute," she says. "Though, I wouldn't be caught dead in those shoes." I look down at the old converses on my feet. "We're going shopping later. Lydia."
"Lydia, my name is Aura and I don't really have any mo-"
"Don't worry about it."
I look at Allison, who just shrugs.
"You're coming with us," I whisper.
She laughs and we walk to the bleachers. While we walk she raises her hand to wave at Scott and he returns the favor. I laugh and we sit down on the bleachers. The team huddle breaks up and the boys begin playing. The practice game begins. I watch the players move around on the field. And one exceptionally good player.
"Is that... Oh my goodness, that's Scott!" I shout. "That's my brother!"
Allison laughs and stands up to cheer with me. We scream his name. Lydia stays seated and covers her face with her hand. Scott makes the shot and we cheer louder. The coach pulls him to the side and shouts at him.
"McCall! Get over here. What in God's name was that? This is a lacrosse field!" Coach shouts. "What? Are you trying out for the gymnastics team?"
"No, Coach."
Allison tugs on my arm. "What's going on?"
"I can hear it."
"You can?"
"Can't you?"
"Just the coach. Mostly because he's shouting but I can't hear Scott."
The crowd starts cheering.
"First line!" A boy yells.
We cheer louder and Scott raises his hand in triumph.

Scott and I walk up the stairs with shopping bags in my hand. After practice, Lydia actually dragged me to the mall and bought me clothes. We knock on Stiles' room door. He opens the door quickly.
"Get in. You've got to see this thing." We step into his room. I look at the books and papers that littered the floor. "I've been up all night reading all these websites, books. All this information."
