I lean against my locker listening Scott talking to Coach from his office. Stiles walks up beside me with a small smile on his face.
"Is Scott talking to Coach?" He asks.
I nod. "I think Coach is reluctant though."
"What makes you say that?"
I push myself off the lockers and we walk down the hall together.
"It just seems like something he'd do. Coach Finstock doesn't seem like the type to be understanding."
Stiles nods. "Tru- Hey.. Is that my dad?"
I look over and see Sheriff Stilinski. Scott comes walking down the hall. Stiles grabs him.
"Tell me what they're saying."
I listen in on their conversation.
"-want everyone under the age of eighteen to be in their home by nine thirty P-M. We'd like to institute the curfew, effective immediately."
Scott looks at the both of us. "We have a curfew because of the body."
"Unbelievable," Stiles mutters. "My dad's looking out for a rabid animal, while the jerk-off who actually killed the girl is just hanging out, doing whatever he wants."
"Well, you can't exactly tell your dad the truth about Derek," I state.
"I can do something."
"Like what Stiles?"
"Find the other half of the body." Stiles grabs my hand. "Come on."
We walk away from Scott. I look back to see him start talking to Allison.
Later after school, Stiles and I sit in the waiting room of the doctor's office. I roll my eyes at Stiles as he drools over Lydia. I kick him in the shin and he winces.
"Ow!"
"Go talk to her. It's literally hurting me that your sitting her like this. You look like puppy looking at a sirloin steak through a glass window," I groan.
"How very specific."
"I'm hungry. Go talk to her."
"Fine. Maybe I will." He gets up out of the chair. He walks over to Lydia. I look away from them kind of hurt but I listen to what he says. "Hey Lydia. You probably don't remember me. Um... I sit behind you in Biology. Uh, anyways, I always thought that we just had this kind of connection. Unspoken, of course. Maybe, it'd be kind of cool to get to know each other a little better."
"Hold on, give me a second." Lydia takes out her earbuds. "Yea, I didn't get a word of what you just said. Is it worth repeating?"
My jaw drops. God, that's embarrassing.
Stiles shakes his head and backs up slowly. "No. Sorry. I'll just sit."
"Okay." She smiles at me. "Hey, Aura."
"Hi Lydia."
She puts her earbuds back in. Stiles sits back down and looks at me. A frown evident on his face. I pat his shoulder. Jackson walks out of the a room rubbing his shoulder.
Lydia gets up. "Did he do it?"
"He said not to make a habit of it but one cortisone shot won't kill me."
"You should get one right before the game too. The pros do it all the time. You want to be some little high school amateur? Or do you want to go pro?"
