I run to the station. Until Stiles starts teaching me how to drive, I have to use my legs to go anywhere that I want to go. And Stiles is still on the cautious side about letting me drive the jeep. The last I drove a car was when Scott was injured.
Which, and I'm going to be honest, was an ultimate disaster.
I walk into the parking lot of the station. I notice a figure walking in and I quickly follow behind. There's a woman lying across the floor. Blood. I open my mouth to shout but a hand covers mine. It's Matt. I move his hand.
"You're human, what's stopping me from cracking that creepy, little cranium of yours open?" I ask him.
"How about the safety of your brother, boyfriend, and your boyfriend's dad?"
"He's not my boyfriend."
He presses his lips against my ear. "Your late night rendezvous tell me otherwise. Let's go."
"Scott, can hear us," I tell him.
"He can only hear us if he focuses on our voices."
I hear a slight rustle in the corridors of the station. Someone else is dying. I suck in a sharp breath. Stiles comes walking out to the front desk. He looks around and then down at the woman laying on the floor covered in blood.
He turns around finally seeing me and Matt.
"Make a sound," Matt threatens, "And I'll blow his brain out. Vice versa."
Stiles and I walk into the room where Sheriff and Scott are.
"Sheriff?" Scott asks.
They both look up at us. Stiles and I move away from Matt and close to Scott. Matt stands there with the gun pointed at us. Sheriff raises his hands slowly while looking at him.
"Matt? It's Matt, right?" Sheriff moves up. "Matt, whatever's going on, I guarantee you there's a solution that doesn't involve a gun."
"You know, it's funny you say that because I don't think you're aware of just how right you are."
"I know you don't want to hurt anyone."
"I actually want to hurt a lot of people. You four aren't on my list but I could be persuaded. And one way is to try dialing somebody on your cellphone like McCall is doing." Scott quickly pulls his hand out of his pocket. "That could definitely get someone hurt. Everyone."
We stand still in our places and his expression changes.
"Now!" He shouts causing me to jump.
"Come on," Sheriff instructs.
We places all of our cellular devices on the desk. We walk into a holding cell room. Matt grabs me by the arm and presses the gun to my head, yet again.
"Motivation," he tells them. "Lock him up with the handcuffs, Stiles."
Sheriff sits on the bench. Stiles grabs the cuffs, linking one of them around the pipe on the wall and the other around his father's.
"Tighter," Matt demands.
"Do to what he says, Stiles," Sheriff says.
Stiles sighs and tightens the cuff around his father's wrist. "I did it, now leave her alone."
Matt shakes his head. "Leverage. Scott's sister, your girlfriend. I can bend you guys anyway I want."
He shoves us all out of the room, still grasping my arm. We walk down halls and stop at an opening. My stomach churns at the sight.
