Allison and I sit on her bed with her phone on speaker as we talk to Scott.

"If Jackson doesn't know what he's doing," Allison says.

"Or he doesn't remember," Scott assumes.

"What if it's the same thing that happened with Lydia?" Stiles asks.

"When she took off from the hospital," I say agreeing with Stiles. "A fugue state. He doesn't know that someone's controlling him."

"He'd have to forget everything," Scott says. "The murder."

"Getting rid of the blood," Allison says staring at her phone.

"But he had help with one thing though," Stiles clues. "The video."

"Whoever's controlling him," Scott says.

Allison looks at me with a curiosity written all over his face. "Are you sure Jackson has no clue about any of this?"

Stiles breathes out. "He thinks he's still becoming a werewolf and that being with Lydia somehow delayed the whole thing."

"So do we try to convince him he's not?"

"If it helps us find out who's controlling him, then yeah," Scott says.

"Do you think he'll talk to us after what we did?"

"Yeah, it's us," Stiles presumes. "He'll talk to us. Right?"

I look at Allison. "They are so going to jail."

Allison slides the tablet through the shelves over to Scott and Stiles. It's like making a deal drug deal, not so discreetly. I look around just to make sure no one's watching.

"That's everything Lydia could translate," Allison tells them. "And trust me, she was very confused."

"Yeah, what'd you guys tell her?" Scott says looking as us through the shelved books.

"That we were part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures," I muse.

"I am part of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures," Stiles says.

We all look at him. He looks at us, his eyes shifting to meet all of ours. I nod.

"O-oh," I pause looking at Scott. "Great."

Stiles smiles then frowns as Allison looks away.

"Okay, does it say how to find out who's controlling him?"

"Not really. But Stiles was right about the murderers."

"Yes!" Stiles gloats.

I roll my eyes. "It calls the kanima a weapon of vengeance. There's a story in there about a South American priest who uses the kanima to execute murderers in his village."

"Alright," Stiles nods. "See? So maybe it's not all that bad."

"Until the bond grew strong enough that it killed whoever it wanted to."

"All bad. All very, very bad."

I reach up for a book. "Here's the thing though. The kanima's actually supposed to be a werewolf but it can't be-"

A girl walks into the aisle and puts a book back. We look at her quickly silencing ourselves. She walks away, not sparing a passing glance.

"'Until it resolves that in its past which manifested it,'" Scott reads.
