We run into the Ms. Morrell's only to see the environment of her absence and someone waiting there for her. She has dark skin and short hair.
"Are you here for Ms. Morrell?" Stiles asks.
"No, I thought this was gym class," the girl retorts.
"Sweetheart, we're not in the mood for funny," Lydia says. "Do you know where she is?"
"If I did, I wouldn't be waiting here for twenty minutes!"
I lean against the wall and I know it's wrong, but all I can think about is Stiles. The worst part is, he knows that I am. We're connected. I feel him and he feels me. The con of not being able to control my abilities.
"So how about you three back out the door and wait your turn."
"We're not here for a session," Lydia bites.
"Well I am. And I've got some serious issues to work on."
"Hey, wait, wait. You're Danielle. Heather's best friend."
"I was Heather's best friend."
Jay. I've been calling him my best friend for this long. He was my best friend. Was. Was. Is? Was?
I look up. "Hold on, did you say Ms. Morrell's twenty minutes late?"
"And I don't know why either. She's always on time," Danielle explains.
"I was seeing her at the beginning of the semester," Lydia tells us.
"And I've been seeing her since... Well since Jay. She was never late."
"Then she's not late, she's missing."
"What if we're not the only ones who thinks she knows something?" Stiles suggests.
"Then I want to know what she knows," I declare.
Stiles goes around to her desk and starts searching for something. Lydia and I look at each other nervously.
"What are you doing?" Danielle asks.
"Trying to find her," he responds.
"Those files are private!"
"Uh, yeah. She's right," Lydia defends.
"And you could end up in jail," I tell him. "Just putting that out there."
"This one's yours," he tells me pulling out a file.
"What?" I snatch it from his hands.
"And this is yours."
"Let me see that," Lydia says.
I look through mine. Many drawings. A lot trees and a manuscript of some of my sessions. I read over the same words repeated over and over again.
"He'll bring me back. He always bring me back."
Stiles looks over my should and I quickly hide the manuscript.
"Those are your drawings," he says.
"Yeah, I know. It's a tree."
"Yeah, good too," Danielle says standing up and looking at it.
"Thank you," I say smiling.
"No, but it's the same one though." He stands up and moves closer to us.
"Same as what?"
"The same one I always see you drawing in class. The same one I always see Lydia drawing in class."
