16. Interview

Miley POV

"Fran? I need an interview," I say into the phone.

"Already on it," She replies. I hang up and start walking to Cody's house.

I knock on the door.

"Hey," I say, when the door opens.

"You better have a good explanation," He says.

"I have one, but it's probably not a good one,"

"Come in," I step into his house, closing the door behind me, "Explain,"

I told him about everything starting with last night and the kiss and this morning and Zayn leaving and the plan.

"So you're going to tell the world that you and Niall broke up because you're in love with Ross?" He says, analyzing the situation.

"Yeah," I reply.

"Does Niall know?"

"Niall and I aren't exactly speaking after what happened,"

"What have you gotten yourself into?"

"I don't know,"

"You do realize that now you have to pretend to be in love with Ross to convince the world of your little story?"

"Yeah,"

"And potentially lose Niall forever?"

"I don't want to, but I don't have any other choice,"

"You always have a choice Mi,"

"Tell everyone the truth? Like that's more believable,"

"You're right, the whole 'ditch Niall for Ross' is better,"

I hear my phone beep. I glance at the screen.

Fran: Got the interview, tonight. You better get your story straight.

"I have to go get ready, I have an interview tonight," I announce.

"I can't tell you what to do, but please think of everyone this involves." Cody reasons.

"Bye Cody," I leave his house and run back to mine. I burst through the door and run up the stairs.

"What are you doing?" Louis asks from the doorway.

"Getting ready for an interview," I say.

"What's your story?" 

"The truth,"

"I thought you didn't remember,"

"I don't, but Ross does and he told me."

"And you believed him?"

"Yes, because I trust him,"

"Whatever you say," He starts to walk away.

"I'm sorry," I say.

"What?"

"I'm sorry I screwed up. I'm sorry I hurt Niall. I'm sorry Zayn left. I'm sorry that you're stuck with me. I'm sorry for hurting you. I've put you through too much," 

"I can't begin to understand what's going on in your life, mostly because you won't tell me, but your apology is not accepted,"

"At least I admitted to doing something wrong," I mutter under my breath.

"I heard that," Louis states.

"It was kinda directed at you,"

"Have fun at your interview tonight,"
