Step one of the plan was complete. Tricking my mother into thinking I was staying with her was the easy part. Now on to step two, which is staying until my birthday and then slipping away before anyone notices. Easier said than done. Lucas told me he would help me in anyway possible, which is why he's at my house this early. "So how exactly are you planning on doing this?" He asked. "Well on the morning of my 16th birthday I am alone for about an hour to put on the ceremonial dress, and to get ready for the changing ceremony. I figured that's the perfect time to sneak out." I replied. Lucas smiled at me and said, "As always you're right, that's perfect." He leaned in and kissed me, and for the first time in a while, I felt like nothing could go wrong. It was the perfect kiss, and God knows I needed it.
