"Announcing the arrival of the beautiful birthday girl! Thalia Rene Pulse!" I heard my mothers voice say loud and clear. I start walking down the steps, trying not to trip on my dress. I heard the other sirens whispering, probably judging me. Most of them had big smiles on their faces. Happy that I've come to my senses as they would say. When I was all the way down the stairs I looked straight at Lucas. "I will save you." I thought to myself. He started to move and then he spoke. "Thalia? Wait no! What are you doing?" "Saving you" I replied. She started to say something again but before he had the chance Raven knocked him out. "Raven!" I yelled "what the heck! Why did you do that!?" "He was getting annoying!" She yelled back. "Can we get this over with please?" "Let the ceremony begin!" My mother yelled. Great...no turning back now. It is now 11:30. When the moon light hits the window at 12:00 they will start the spell and I will transform. First I have to drink wine from a golden goblet. Then my mother smeared something on my face. "Ew! What is that?" I asked. "Quiet child! It's just blood!" I thought I was going to throw up. I wanted to ask who's blood it was, but that probably would have Meade her mad so I kept my mouth shut. I looked at the clock, 11:50. "It's almost time girls!" My mother yelled. 11:55. My heart is racing! 11:59. "Start the chant ladies!" Screamed my mother. They all started chanting in a language I didn't understand. 12:00. My body started to ache. My teeth sharpened. But there is something I didn't prepare myself for. I started to smile. Evilness was surging through me. And I loved it!  "It's time for her first real meal. To test her evilness. Unchain the boy!" My mother yelled. Wait what? I watched as they unchained Lucas. "Eat!" My mother yelled. "Eat, eat, eat, eat!" The others joined in. I approached him. He is now awake from being knocked out. "Thalia, it's me Lucas! Remember! I love you! Don't do this!" He pleaded. "Sorry Lucas, but sirens don't love. We kill!" I yelled. I lunged towards him ready to eat. But before I could he stabbed me with a broken shard of glass that was lying on the floor. I cried in pain. "I'm sorry, Tal." He said. And then he was gone. "Now what? She needs to eat or the transformation can't take its full affect!" Screamed Violet. My mother was panicking. They have until 1:00 to find me a meal or I will turn back into a human. A normal human. Not half siren. I will be normal! The clock reads 12:50. There is no way they can do it! I hold on to whatever good I have left in me and I run out of the room. They think I'm going to find me a meal so they don't stop me. I run and run. Goodbye mom. 1:00...
