I pack everything that I can fit into my backpack and jump out if my window. Even if I'm not a full siren yet I can still run just as fast. Sirens are fast, beautiful, and strong. If our beauty doesn't lure them in, we can chase them down. We're like vampires except we don't drink the person's blood.
I texted Sarah and told her where I was going and she didn't freak out. She understood and wished me luck. After I texted her I destroyed my phone so nobody could locate me. I ran for 5 miles and then I got tired. I stopped in a town called Mystery Hill, Missouri. My new home for the night is a cave out in the woods just outside of the town. Creepy yes, but it works for the night. I'll have to start running again in the morning.
**********
When I woke up I heard noises oustide of the cave. I quickly hid behind a huge rock. I saw two men walking in front of the cave. Then all of a sudden they were attacked by two sirens. I watched as they were eaten. That's when they saw me. I tried to run away, but by the time I got out of the cave they were already on top of me. "Your mother wants to have a word with you!" one of them said. "If you would stop fighting this could be over a lot quicker!" yelled the other one. They were pinning me to the ground and trying to chain me up. I kicked one of them off me and then I bit the other one to loosen her grip on me. I started to run again, then someone came out of no where and started fighting the two sirens. He was faster than they were. With one swipe of his knife he chopped their heads off. I know it's graphic but that's the only way to kill a siren. I turned to the man to say thank you but before I even caught a glimpse of his face, he was gone. Now that they knew where I was, I had to keep running. Running is the only option I have. By the time I got to the next town I was too tired, so I called a cab. I got 3 towns over until I finally stopped because I was hungry. I went into a restaurant called Lisa's Good Eats, and had a cheese burger and fries. While I was eating I started thinking about Lucas. I really wish he was here. He could probably help me. I started my run again and took a short cut through the woods. That was a big mistake because right as I got into the woods four sirens surrounded me. They all leaped at me at the same time I held off two of them for about five seconds, but they were soon too much for me to handle. Defeated I gave up and told them I would go willingly back to my house. Before we started walking, Lucas jumped on them and sliced...well you get the picture. I was so happy that I hugged him, but he pushed me away and started yelling at me. "You are so lucky I made it here on time!" He yelled "What do you think you are doing?! Are you stupid or something?" I was so shocked I couldn't help myself. One by one the tears started streaming down my face. I can't believe he would say something like that to me! He soon started to freak out. "Hey, Tal please don't cry. I'm so sorry, I was just worried about you." He then wrapped his arms around me and embraced me in a hug so tight, I finally felt safe. I never wanted it to end. Finally he let me go and explained to me why he was here. "I got a text from Sarah explaining where you were going, she said you may need my help. So I followed you." He never ceases to amaze me. "So," he said after a long and awkward pause. "Where are we going next?" I looked at him and said one simple word, "Home."
