Let The Battle Commence

This was it. The dragon had arrived. This was going to be a battle to remember. Just me and the dragon, with no help from my comrades.

The dragon circled the camp. The others noticed and they jumped up. They all found cover under the trees. Shadow soared up to the dragon, as if to talk to it.

The dragon stopped in one place, and spoke with Shadow. I couldn't understand a word of it, because it was in the dragon language. After a few moments, Shadow came down to me.

''The dragon has accepted the challenge. Once you show yourself, the battle begins, so be ready.'' She soared back to where the others were in the trees and got comfortable.

I braced myself. This was it. I had to be ready. For all I knew, the dragon could grab me and snap my neck the second it saw me. There was only once chance I had to beat this beast. I had to go for the weak spot.

I was so nervous. This could be the last time I ever breathe. The last time I see my friends. The last time I ever see the light of day. Those weren't the worst. I could die with only with a memory of my mother. I could barely remember the last time I spoke to her, or the last time I said I loved her.

My heart was beating almost as loudly as the battle we fought against Billy. This battle would be a lot harder. I had no one to watch my back. If I was moments away from death, they would have to let me die.

I took one last look at the others. They were all watching me. I looked back at them. They all had a mix of worry, excitement, and many other emotions I could not read. Gary looked the most worried. I couldn't really read Shadow's emotions. Then again barely anyone could. Well, except for Storm of course.

I didn't want to keep my challenger waiting. I could see her flying opposite of my location.

I pointed my hooks at another tree opposite from me. I jumped. The dragon started towards me. I was flying straight at him. Our eyes met.

I could see the power in her eyes. They were filled with anger, adrenaline, power, and magic.

I am ready.
