The Adventure Continues

The Trip Starts

I woke up with Shadow's face in mine.

''Did you find out what dragon you want yet?'' she whispered.

''Why are you whispering?''

''I don't know, but did you?''

''Yeah,'' I replied, getting the book from my bedside table.

She flipped to the page I had marked.

''Ah, this is a good one! We'll have fun tracking this one! Alright! Let's get ready to go! We're setting out in the morning!'' she said, marching down the stairs.

''Wait, what? Morning?''

''Yeah! It's only 4:15 though. Might want to get your gear ready.''

I got all of my gear rounded up. I couldn't wait! I was actually getting my own dragon!

''Amber! Come here! I need you for a second!'' Shadow yelled up the stairs.

I went down the stairs. Shadow was walking out of the door. I followed.

She led me to the horse pen. There were a bunch of new horses, all of different sizes, breeds, and color.

''Pick one.''

I looked them over. There was a white one, a white one with grey and black freckles, a brown and blonde one, a brown and black one, a full blonde one, a blonde and black one, a black and grey one, and a blonde and white one.

I picked the white and grey freckled one. It was still very young, and looked like it was in good shape. It was female too.

Shadow handed me the saddle and everything else that went with it. She helped me strap it on the horse and let me ride her a bit in the yard.

After that, we went back inside and made sure everything we needed was packed. Gary, Jeffrey, Orpheous, Knight, Melody, Aaron, Blare, Jack, Sam, Nova, Fluff, Storm, Sliver, King, and Soren were all ready to go.

Sunrise came. We all go on our horses and started off down the street. The few people that were up stared as we went by. It looked like we were getting ready to take on a small army. We probably could take a whole realm with the skilled warriors that we were.

After we got out of town and to where the road was a lot wider, we split up into our group. 

Shadow, Gary and I were to be in the front.

Jeffrey was to lead the left side along with Knight and Melody.

Storm was to lead the right side with King and Soren.

Orpheous would be in the back with Jack, Aaron, and Blare.

Sam would be next to Shadow, Fluff next to me, and Nova on my shoulder. Dark was also on the trip. He would be trailing right behind Shadow. That dragon was now the size of an elephant. It was still young, too, and had a lot more growing to do.

We would all be in each other's sights. To stop and rest, we would all come together. We had to stay up a lot though to keep watch.

We were on our way to the dragon's nest even after sundown.
