We all rode swiftly to Hunter's house. It was an enormous house made out of logs with black, metal framed windows. There was a stable off the the right. A blonde horse was tied up there. The horse was faded out, like it almost didn't exist. Almost like a ghost.

Jeffrey had a look I couldn't really put into words on his face. It was kind of a mix of anger, a little bit of worry, and a little bit of fear.

We all tired up our horses and went inside. There was a big fireplace by the far wall. Off to the left, there were stairs leading up to the rooms. On the right side of the living room, was two doors, and an open kitchen. The walls were a light, polished, oak wood that matched the floors. There was a red plaid couch that was facing the fireplace. There were several carpets around the floor. All of them matching the couch.

Shadow went over and sat down in the fireplace. Not beside it, but on top of the fire and logs. She wasn't burned by it at all. Sam lied right next to the fire. Dark had to stay outside of course.

I sat down next to Gary on the couch. I was on the end, Gary next to me, and Orpheous was on the other end.

Gary seemed a bit nervous being right next to me. I could tell he didn't want to sit any closer to Orpheous, so he stayed put, looking down at his hands.

Jeffrey stayed by the door with the same look on his face, but it had a touch of anxiety with it.

Melody, Aaron, Jack, and Blare all sat on the floor. Hunter stood to face us all.

''If you guys want food, its over there, in the kitchen of course. You can all pick out your own rooms upstairs. You can choose from any of them except for the tree at the end of the hallway. Especially not the one at the very end. That room belongs to Jasper and he doesn't take to kindly to people being in his room while he's away. Other than that, just try not to agitate Forest and Pixie over in their little home.'' He pointed to what looked like a bee's nest hanging from the roof right next to the fireplace.

''Pixie and Forest are here?!'' Nova asked with an excited look on her face.

''Nova?''

Another fairy that looked a lot like Nova but with different clothes and longer hair stepped out. She was followed by a shorter fairy that had her hair in a braided bun.

''Nova!'' Both of the other fairies flew with great speed over to her. They all gave each other what looked like bear hugs.

''I missed you guys so much! I thought you were dead!'' Nova said, releasing her grip from the two other fairies.

''Why would you think that? You know we can protect ourselves from any danger!'' The one with the bun exclaimed, putting her hands on her hips and holding her chin up high.

''I bet you couldn't take down a Dark Wraith!'' Nova said, kind of challenging.

''Oh yes I would!''

''Nuh uh!''

''Yeah huh!''

They weren't really fighting. They both had smiles on their faces as they continued.

The tall one stepped between them.''Forest, what are you talking about? You can't even stand up to Jasper! Let alone defeat a Dark Wraith.''

The tall one must be Pixie, and the shorter one must be Forest.

Nova turned to us.''You all know my sisters right? I definitely know Shadow does.''

Forest buckled at her knees.''Sh-Shadow's here?''

''Yeah, are you afraid of her or something?'' Nova mocked.

''No! Of course not!''

''Yes you are!''

''No I'm not!''

I looked over at the fireplace to see that Shadow was missing from it. I looked around the room for her and found her in the kitchen, helping herself to a hunk of cheese.

''What about me now?'' Shadow said after she swallowed.

''Ahh!''

Forest fell backwards at the sound of Shadow's voice.

''I knew you were scared of her!'' Nova said triumphantly.

''Oh, shut up!''

Forest, Nova, and Pixie all flew into the little house thingy. Everyone else went upstairs to pick out a room. I did the same, but stopped at the sound of Shadow's voice.

She was talking to Hunter downstairs. I stood frozen on the steps. I don't think they could see me.

''So, Hunter, do you know when, um, Jasper will be back from the, um, port?''

This was the most nervous I've ever heard her. Her voice was a bit shaky as well.

''He's supposed to be back in a few weeks. Then again, I haven't spoken to him in a while.''

I took a quick peek at them. Shadow was scratching the back of her neck, as she always does when she's nervous, and Hunter was mockingly leaning over to be level with Shadow.

''Why do you ask?'' Hunter said with great curiosity.

Shadow's face turned a bright red.''No reason. When he get's back, be sure to tell him to come up to the castle. For business of course, well, when he has a chance.''

Hunter stood back up with a big smile on his face.''I think a certain somebody has a crush!''

Shadow's face got even redder.''No, it's just for business, and such!''

He crossed his arms.''Oh sure.''

Sam came to Shadow's side, in case she was needed.

''Well anyways, go find a room for the night.'' He started to walk towards the kitchen.

''Hunter, could you not tell Jasper about...well, you know?''

He paused at the sound of her voice.''Of course.''

I went up the stairs and up to a room with a cracked open door. Shadow passed by and went in the room net to mine. Sam followed.

I set all of my stuff by the dresser, and went to sleep.
