Force from the Other Side

Chapter Nine

D'Qar was the closest. He couldn't take her back to the training centre. Leia was shocked to see her brother carrying Rey.

"She needs a doctor." Leia uttered.

"Luke!" Mara shouted. "Luke!"

Mara ran to him. "Rey!"

"She's wounded." Luke explained. Many other people ran over, including a very angry Amethyst.

"So is my husband!" shouted Amethyst. "She almost killed him! Why should we help her?!"

"Because she's my daughter. She is our family" he growled at Amethyst. It took all her self control to not punch him. Instead she bit her cheek and huffed out the breath she was holding.

Leia led Luke to Alistair. The Skywalker was still holding his daughter. Mara approached Amethyst. "I'm sorry about what Luke... I don't condone her actions. I know what she did was horrible. But I know what it's like to have someone compromise your feelings, your mind... your everything. Snoke compromised everything of Rey. That's why I have to save her. Because I've been there. But that doesn't mean I'm not angry at what she did to Ben. She'll never forgive herself for it. I've never been able to forgive myself for the things that I've done. The people I've killed. Be assured Amethyst. She will be punished, by herself."

"Thank you" amethyst looked down "but, his eye"

"It looks grimm but Ben is one of the best human beings and one of the best jedi I know. He might have it physically but he'll grown stronger and he'll recover from this. He's brave and kind. And he has the force to help him."

"I don't mind it, but he will." She sighed turning from her in law. "I know him. He was confident about his lack of scars, who knows how it will effect him." Amethyst frowned. "Forgiveness can only go so far."

"Forget about forgiveness. What you need to do is keep reassuring him when he wakes up. And you've two children in there. Han told me. Forget about all of this. Go away with him. And be a family. You and them are what he needs most."

"You think that's a good idea? He loves being a jedi."

"He'll still be a jedi when you get back. But it's much harder to be a husband and a father but I know he'll be a good one."

"I'm going to get back to him in case he wakes up."

"Take it easy." Mara told Amethyst.

When Ben woke up Amethyst was sleeping. She was laying her head on his hand. He caught sight of his reflection in a mirror nearby. A gasp escaped his lips. Amethyst woke up and covered the mirror.

"No. I need to see" he tried to get up. She tried to stop him "amethyst. Please" frowning she nodded. Taking his hand she placed it against her forehead, allowing him to read her mind. Tears fell down her face. "Why are you crying, do you not-"

"Shhhh. You are even more beautiful now. You were so brave, and I'm so proud of you" Amethyst kissed him. "No matter what you look like I love you."

Leia walked in. She had to take a step back because she was surprised about the new injury. Regaining her posture she spoke. "I'm proud of you Ben."

"Mother..." Ben uttered.

"I'm so proud of you. You did the right thing in a bad situation and not only that I'm proud because you're going to be an amazing father."

"The children will be scared of me." he uttered.

"No they won't!" Amethyst told him firmly. "They'll love you! They won't be like that at all. What would you tell me if it happened to me?"

"I'd tell you the same things as you're telling me. You'd look beautiful if you had a tree stump growing out of your head." he said to her.

"Even if you did have one, you'd be the hottest tree stump" she whispered to him.

"No you'd be." he uttered and smiled at her. "How are the babies?"

"Fine. Growing, but fine" amethyst smiled "Rey is here. She's injured, passed out"

"Snoke was inside her head. I don't think she could control half the things she did. I don't remember injuring her though... Maybe I did..."

"I don't think you did." Amethyst uttered. "The wounds didn't appear to be old enough to be yours."

"Is she ok?" He asked. A slight pang of worry passed through him.

"Stable" Leia remarked "I want you to talk to her when she wakes up."

"Why me?"

"Don't question me. Just do it."

"You do realise this bitch almost killed him..." Amethyst began.

"i'm aware." Leia said. "I'm also aware that I'd rather have her as an ally than as an enemy. Let's not forget the first order has failed in several regards because of her. She has knowledge that we can use."

"Or is it maybe because she's your precious brother's precious daughter?" Amethyst snapped

"Amethyst." Ben uttered. "Imagine if that was me..."

"I have. I'd still feel the same way."

"This is my choice." Ben said suddenly. "I wanted to help her. I'm not going to change my mind. I knew the risks when I became a jedi. I knew the risks when I decided to try help her."

Amethyst sighed knowing she was not going to get anywhere with him. "Fine"

"I have to fix her."

Amethyst sighed. "I know. Because that's what you do. but...she's dangerous."

"So am I." he replied.
