Force from the Other Side

Chapter Twelve

They'd been a week at the training centre. The twins were starting to like it. Ben was happy to be back. He started teaching again that day. He kept asking Luke about Rey. Amethyst wondered if Ben wanted her as a padawan. Amethyst hoped not. That girl needed one thing - execution.

Although no one had seen her for a week.

"Mrs Solo?" a voice asked.

Amethyst turned around to see a new padawan student. He was tall and dark. Amethyst got an unsettling feeling looking at him. She was carrying Anakin in her arms at the time and making her way to the library.

"Yes that's me." Amethyst said dryly.

"Could you point me in the direction of the library?"

"No. I'm not sure where it is." Amethyst lied. That was where she was going. She couldn't be bothered with him.

"Alright thank you anyway."

Rey came out of meditation dazed. She had forgotten how she got where she was. She was far from the training centre. Suddenly she sensed something. Something bad. She had to get back there.

It was night time when the fire broke out in the library. Ben was distressed, worried about all the important jedi books and scriptues. luckily so far it was only the recreational books that were being burned.

"We have to stop them!" Amethyst said. "Those are my books!"

"They belong to everyone!" Ben protested as he threw water on the fire.

"Try to keep calm." Luke said.

But calmness wasn't to be had when the fire was started to spread.

Rey looked on in horror when she eventually got back to the training centre. It was covered in flames. Some students stood outside, the younger ones. They felt relived to see Rey.

She sensed that bad presence again and she began to follow it.

"I can't get to Sapphire and Anakin!" Amethyst cried. They were frantically throwing water to calm the fire.

Students were running out with important books and things.

Luke was just trying to stop the fire.

Rey ran through the flames, chanting the jedi code as she did. Her clothes went on fire and all she could was roll to stop it. She could feel her back burning. it was something she was used to.

The sensation stopped as she saw a former brother of her's, with the twins. He set them down and away from the fire and drew his lightsaber. "Snoke sends his regards, Rey Skywalker. You traitorous bitch."

Ben stood and took a deep breath, before parting the flames with the force. Him and Amethyst ran along after that. They had to get to the twins.

Rey pushed back her attacker with the force. "Sorry Rey."

"Jacob those are not your children to take." Rey told him.

"oh look at that. You still care so much."

She grabbed her training staff and fought with him but it was destroyed. She was on the ground and looking up. He brought the lightsaber to her face and cut downward to her neck and down to her abdomen.

That was when she blasted him back with the force and into the flames. She got up and grabbed the twins. She parted the flames with the force in the other direction from her attacker and made her way out. Luke and Mara were out. The twins were crying.

"They're outside!" Ben stated and grabbed Amethyst, leading her back the way they came. They were relieved to see the twins.

"I'm so sorry I'm late." a voice said as Amethyst calmed sapphire and Ben calmed Anakin. "Leia found word of a.... an imposter. And I'm not a doctor I'm a message carrier actually."

Rey used the distraction of everything going on to start moving away. She was noticing the pain.

"Alistair. Help me examine the twins!" Amethyst ordered him.

"You should get them someone cool." Alistair said and took Sapphire. "They seem fine. I'll do a scan to make sure."

"I'll take them on the falcon."

"There is no emotion there is peace." Rey chanted. She was in pain, she was burning. It was bad. She felt like she was going to be sick. All she could do was chant and try meditate. Luke found her and he gently picked her up.

He brought her over to the falcon. Alistair saw the damage and applied a cooling and healing gel on her skin.

"I"m fine." she yelled suddenly. "I don't need this."

"You'll do as you're told for once young lady!" Luke found himself telling her.

"Yes father." Rey uttered quietly and looked down. It was the first time she'd called him that.

"I'm going to have to take off your top robe. This wasn't how I imagined it for the first time seeing what's under there but I'm going to have to." Alistair said to her.

"If you weren't already tending to her wound, I'd kill you." Luke said to Alistair.

"Your sister wouldn't let you."

"I'll be back. OKay?" Luke said to Rey.

Rey looked away as he left.

"How are the twins?" Luke asked Amethyst and Ben. Mara was dealing with the students. They'd probably have to relocate to the resistance base until they found somewhere else to go.

"They're fine." Ben told him.

"Are you sure?" Luke asked.

"Yes they're fine." Ben assured his Uncle. "I've made contact with my mother The man who tried to take Anakin and Sapphire. The Sith. He's still alive. My mother wants Rey to talk to him. Find out his plans. don't worry she won't be in there alone."

"Rey is with Alistair right now. She's.... has some minor injuries." Luke replied.

"How...."

"Saving Anakin and Sapphire."

"She did that?" Ben asked. "Wow."

"We should head to D'Qar." stated Luke.

"No." Rey said suddenly, staggering in.

"I'm not finished." Alistair said. She's stolen his coat to cover herself.

"Rey you can barely stand." Luke said to her.

"Don't take him to D'Qar. He might be able to communicate with Snoke."

"i could communicate with Palpatine." Mara said from the doorway.

"We need to set up a secure force refinement chamber. If he's still alive. That way Palpatine won't be able to reach him with the force."

"Do you know how to do that?" Ben asked.

"A force cage and Ysalamir." Rey replied. "The force cage is easy enough to make."

"Luckily I have some."Mara replied. "You're not the only one who knows how to repel the force y'know. Ben will you accompany me?"

"Yes." Ben replied.

"Rey you stay with your father and make sure this assailant does not escape."

"I won't." Rey replied.

Alistair dragged Rey to a box to sit on. "Just sit here."

"I have to..."

"I'll take a student." Luke said. rey groaned.
