When we got back to New York I had energy. I had three cups of coffee for what was to come. Tresey was sleep so I carried her to my Acura. I missed my baby. Ju and the rest of the crew went about they business but I knew we all had to be careful cuz after business trips who knows what could happen. Call me paranoid but I drove around for an hour and then went to Queens making sure no one was following me. I got the perfect room picked out. I had this room painted light green when baby Jay was here last summer and every time she comes over. Even though Tresey favorite color was lime green, this would do for now. I had three other rooms. My room, guest room, and studio. I had computers, a music system, video games, and a bar in the studio.
We got to my house and I decided to cook. Spaghetti, Italian sausages, and garlic bread. When I was real young I wanted to become a chef but getting caught up in what I do now I ain't make time for it.
I played the weekend and looked every so often, at Tresey sleeping. She cried on the jet for her mother so I ain't want her waking up and looking around scared.
I fixed our plates then saved Elle, my mother, and baby Jay a plate. It's only ten so I'm gonna take her to my mothers then go see Elle. I gotta tell her and I don't wanna overwhelm her with meeting Tresey. I'll wait for that, I wanna see her reaction first.
I lifted sleeping princess and smiled. She looked just like me. I put her in the car along with the food and drove to my mother house. We grew up in Brooklyn and my mother really wasn't leaving so I got her a nice house in Dumbo. She loves it, her stubborn behind don't wanna leave the ghetto. But dumbo is a nice neighborhood.
I pulled up and Tresey was rubbing her eyes. I shut off the car and turned to her. "You okay Trese?"
"Yeah, I'm hungry."
"Okay, I made spaghetti. You gonna eat it here. I want you to meet your Auntie Jay and Grandma."
"Your Mommy?" She asked.
"Yep." I say. I get out and open her door. She grabs my hand and I grab the bag of food. We get to the door and as I get my keys Tresey hold onto my leg and hides. "You don't have to be nervous they nice and got candy." She smiled at the sound of candy but still holds onto my leg.
I smile and open the door. My mother was sitting on the couch reading a book and looked at me when I came in. She was smiling at me. I took a slow step as Tresey was still holding onto my leg. "What you slow stepping for boy?"
"I brought company," I say. "Come on Tresey, she's nice." Here goes nothing. My mother stood up and took off her glasses.
"Who's pretty baby is.." She stopped and her mouth shot open. "Where did you get this little girl from?"
"Alicia."
My mothers eyes welled up with tears. "She's beautiful. Looking like Janaia baby pictures. Come here sweetie."
Tresey looked up at me and I nodded. We had a talk on the way here about strangers and trust. She ain't gonna be trusting everyone no more. I told her to give me the look to know if it was okay, first.
My mother picked her up. "What's your name pretty girl?"
"Latrese Princess Carter." She said playing with her bracelet.
My mother chuckled. "You are so beautiful. I'm Lisa Anne Velmont but you can call me Grandma." I could tell my mother was happy. She was just talking about Grandkids.
"Daddy said you his Mommy." She said getting a little more comfortable.
"Yeah I am. Don't we look alike?" My mother said making the small smirking face I was making and put her face to mine.
