I left out without saying anything to my father. Jasmine smacked my father in the back of the neck when we left. I like her already.

When we got to my car I see Jasmine did some funny movement in her walk which had me watching her hard. I thought it was a signal to somebody so I lifted my pants making sure I had my gun on me. If she try something funny, I don't gotta kill her. Just whoever she got over here.

"You looking for somebody?" I asked as she walked to my car.

"Nah," she shook her head and got in my passenger seat. I looked around before going inside.

"So what school you go to?" I asked.

"Lincoln why?" she looked a little funny but fearless. She had long black hair with blonde at the end. She was really light so I'm figuring her mother light skinned. And the texture of her hair made me assume she's Spanish or white. She's really pretty with not light but not dark brown eyes. My father's I don't know if that's possible but she had chinky eyes with that. She's slim but not skinny. She had diamond earrings going all up her ear, about 5 piercings. And I caught a tattoo under it that read Pride.

"My little sister goes there. Y'all probably know each other," I say.

"Nah prolly not," she said looking straight as I pulled off.

"So you know any family-"

"I don't have family," she said flatly.

"What about your mother?" I asked.

"My mother could be dead and it wouldn't make a difference," she said coldly. I wasn't the one to get into details so I ain't ask what she meant. Honestly I feel that's too personal anyway.

"So what did he do that you tryna kill him?" I asked turning at the light onto the belt.

"Where we going?" she asked now looking at me.

"Don't worry about it," I say. "Now what he did again?"

"Look I don't got games to play. If you gonna kill me just do it now," she said.

I looked at her in deep thought. "And I ain't the type to beg for my life so where's the equipment for you to finish me?"

With that I busted out laughing. I was gonna try to scare her like I was but she don't scared apparently. I ain't gonna front she gets a lot of respect because she's not scared of nothing and that's a good thing. Could be a bad thing too but mostly good.

"I'm not gonna hurt you," I say.

"What the hell?" she shot back.

"You alright shawty?" I slightly laughed.

“What the hell so funny?" she got loud.

"Calm down," I say with a straight face.

"So what you doing? What's this ride for?" she shot at me now staring at me hard.

"I just found out I had a daughter four years old. She's beautiful. Looks just like me and got her mother attitude. And she's so smart," I smiled thinking about Tresey. "I missed out on four years of her life. That means first steps, words. Holding the bottle on her own, sitting up by herself, feeding herself. I was angry for a while but I realized it's dumb. You missed out on years of your family life, the first thing you do is try to catch up on years. Anger don't do nothing."

She got quiet for a while and she looked straight out the window. I mean what else was I suppose to do. I found out I got another little sister too. Family is my life so why would I be anything besides cool with her? Yeah my father fucked up and ain't say nothing but stressing doesn't solve anything.
