Chapter 11: Trouble

Katherine's POV

I woke up and laying next to me was Michael. He still had his arms wrapped tightly around me and I think every part of my body was touching him. I loved this a lot. I always read about it in books or saw it in romance movies, I never thought it'd actually happen. I laid there for a while, my thoughts running around in my head when Michael started to move. He lifted his head up and looked at me. I smiled at him and he did the same to me.

"Good morning, sunshine," He said, his voice rough.

"morning, how did you sleep?" I asked.

"Oh, I slept great. I had the dream where I kissed a girl...wait a minute." We both chuckled.

"Well then, it must have been a dream come true," I said as Vince walked in.

"Am I interrupting anything?"

"Nah," Michael said getting up.

"Okay, well love birds, you need to go downstairs. By the way, this will ruin the romantic atmosphere so get ready." Vince said closing the door.

"Well, that killed it," I said standing up and stretching. I knelt down and put on my combat boots.

"Yep, I'll meet you down there and nice racks." I immediately looked down. He couldn't see anything. I looked up to glare at him, but he was already downstairs. I sighed, finishing up tying my shoes and went down to the living room. Everyone was kind of down. Something wasn't right.

"We have to move"Said Dylan.

"What?Why?"Michael asked.

"People are around the area and they figured out we have electricity. They have a much larger number of people."

"My God..."I didn't think this would happen.

"Pack all you can I guess. We still have the Mustang working so we'll leave in that. Someone else take the horses."

"Why can't we stay and defend the property?" Vince spoke.

"We had horses?" I asked confused. That's new.

"Yeah, we found them grazing in a pasture up ahead a few miles of the road. We took them in." Audrey replied.

"There's too many people, I've seen them," Dylan spoke.

"Oh, okay. A little heads up next time. I used to ride horses. I know how to break them and all that," I added.

"Hmm, well they happen to not be very broken. I tried to get on one but he bucked me off." Hazel said.

"Okay, I'll work on getting them broke I guess. It may take a while though. It all depends on how much they've been broken and how long ago they were started."

"Well, I'll leave you and Michael to that then. We'll leave in a few days...or at least till we get the horses broke."

"Okay." Me and Michael shot up and ran towards the fenced area. Once we climbed the fence I stopped in my tracks.

"Oh my God...." I felt the tears falling.

"What?" Michael looked concerned.

"They...those are my horses...I thought they ran away or died....but they..."

"Wow...so if you had them...shouldn't they be broken?"

"It's been so long that they probably don't remember. And they also probably didn't trust Hazel."

"Oh...so should we try and get on them or...?"

"Yeah. Let me walk up to them, they should know who I am." As soon as I reached Carly she licked my hand and nibbled on it a little bit. Louis came up behind me and smelled me.

"Is it okay...for me to walk up there?" Michael asked.

"Yeah, just don't spook them."

"Okay." He slowly made his way up to me and the horses.

Louis took an interest in him and began smelling him. Sooner or later we were all messing around with each other. Louis kept nudging Michael and me and Carly were chasing each other. This reminded me of Jack and I when we were younger. We both loved horses. Especially Louis and Carly. Later on that day everyone came out and I got them familiar with Louis and Carly. I let everyone ride them so that Louis and Carly wouldn't go ballistic on them. It was finally evening and the sun was setting. Me and Michael ate early so we could stay out with the horses. The sun was just above the forest's canopy so the sun's setting rays shined in between the leaves. Light glistened on the horses which made their eyes sparkle. Now I really do feel like nothing bad had happened. Michael and I jumped the fence and walked inside. Everyone had gone to bed so we headed up to his room. For hours, it seemed like, we just looked at each other lost in thought. Michael kissed my nose then my lips and pulled me close. I fell asleep after a while in his arm.

A/N: I only have like 6 more chapters til this is done. I'm starting to get bored with this book, hints why I haven't been posting as much as I should. I really want to go somewhere on Wattpad, but I'm not doing a very good job at that. I think the next thing I'm going to do is write a fanfiction. Idk, we'll see how everything works out. I know this year, I'm going to at least try and be on it more.n
