We finally found a really old town. It wasn't that updated but I knew there would be supplies. For the most part, everywhere was broken in, but there were a few untouched stores. Dylan decided to split us all up into groups to go check out the town.

"Audrey, Vince, I want you too to go check north of town. Nick and Hazel, east side. Michael, Katy, you two go check houses. I'll check the hospital. Once you're done, come back to the sign." And we were off doing our own thing.

About three houses in, Michael broke our silence of searching. I was praying he wouldn't bring up what was wrong with me earlier, but that didn't work out so well.

"So, are you going to tell me now?" Michael asked me.

"There was nothing wrong."

"There obviously was."

"You have your own issues to worry about." I opened a cabinet, empty.

"Yeah well, if something's an issue for you, it's gonna be an issue for me."

"It's only an issue if you make it an issue and that's exactly what you're doing." I slammed the cabinet shut and glared at him.

"Okay, so what if a hoard were to come your way and you were alone. That's not my issue to help my girlfriend? To save her life?"

"That's irrelevant," I walked off to another room.

"Oh, so could you please explain to me how it's 'irrelevant' " He yelled. I could hear him following me.

"Because anyone in the group would save each other. This is more of a feeling or thought." I yelled back at him.

He stopped for a minute, "What kind of thoughts..." He looked worried now.

"It's not me who has those thoughts...."

We stood there in silence. I couldn't tell if he was working up the nerve to confront me on how I knew, or himself.

"Who told you?"

"Your dad."

"Of course he did."

"Why?"

He turned away and went on searching, "Why what?"

"Why did you run away...why did you have those thoughts? What changed your mind?"

Michael sat down on the couch, I followed, "My mom...she was basically eaten by one of those son's of bitches. I saw her...as one. It just put me in a bad state of mind. My dad wouldn't stop bugging me about it either. Then we'd always get into fights. I just couldn't take it. I...."

"Did you try anything?" I looked up at him, he couldn't look at me.

"When I saw Teagan, something made me want to live. Then you came, and you gave me a reason. Like there's still hope out there. I don't even know how you showed me either. It just happened." I was pulling at a string coming up from the fabric of the couch.

I didn't know what to say. Let alone how to say it. Questions just kept popping up in my mind over and over again. I desperately wanted to have an answer, but he still looks touchy on it.

"Do you still have those thoughts?" That's the most important question that I could think of, and it'll be my last one.

"No. Not at all."

"Okay...good. We should continue scavenging."

"Yeah." We got up and searched the rest of the houses. We all met up at the town sign. The stores didn't have anything to offer. Nor did the houses. This place was pretty much done for. Now it's just sitting here, with no purpose. IT was getting close to dark and there was a hotel that looked like it was in good enough shape. We all picked our rooms and we met in the lobby and ate some food. The hotel itself was pretty gross. We had guests with us while we ate. Rats. God, I always hated them. I couldn't even sit on the floor. I had to be on the counter. Audrey and Hazel were up there with me.

"I can handle a lot of shit, but rats aren't one of them." Hazel laughed chewing her food.

"You can say that again." Audrey agreed.

"Ditto," I replied.

Michael finished his food fast so he could feed Mckayla. She was going to sleep with him tonight, so he was on full baby duty. I wish him luck. Everyone was enjoying their time and laughing. Later on, we all headed up to our rooms. Mckayla was in one of those portable cribs that the group found a while back asleep. Michael and I adventured the hotel. It was 4 stories high. We took the stairs to the top point. It looked like it was a run down bar type thing. IT had a bar set up, but no chairs or tables. All that was there was the bar. There was a window seat and we sat down. I ended up snuggling up close to him, because of the coldness.

"Are you mad at me...for today?" He asked.

"No, I was just concerned."

"You don't need to worry. I'm not that person anymore. I never should've been either."

"I know, but I won't stop worrying. It's the apocalypse." I looked up at him and smiled.

He leaned down and kissed me.
