Katy's POV

I woke up laying next to Michael. We hugged last night and he somehow ended up sleeping with me. We were both dressed, so I didn't have a problem. I got out of bed without waking him and went to the bathroom to go get dressed. Once I got out I went back to my room. I saw him sitting on the bed, putting on his shoes.

"Morning sleeping beauty"

"Huh, oh morning." His voice was groggy. It was kind of cute.

"C'mon. We have a rather big day ahead of us. You're lucky I let you sleep in."

"How long did you let me sleep in?!"

"About 2 minutes." I laughed. He glared at me and got up. He put his gun in his holster.

We ate and were on our way.

"So, where did you leave your group?" I asked Michael scanning my surroundings.

"I was near an older town. We were raiding it and then a bunch of walkers came out of nowhere and I got separated."

"Where was that old town?" I looked at him.

"It was North of your house."

"Oh, it's probably Aviel."

"Yup," He shook his head like he knew what I was talking about.

We walked a few miles. It was around noon when we decided to stop to take a drink. We heard footsteps and talking up ahead. We froze. Michael pulled my arm. We hid behind a tree. I left my bag over there. I wanted to go get it but I might be seen and Michael had a grip on me. He must've seen me eyeing my bag. Smart kid. We saw 6 people emerge from the tree lines. There were two older people. two girls and two guys. Then there was an older man holding a little girl. I looked up at Michael. Tears brimmed his eyes. That must be his group. They were all laughing and having a good time except the man and the little girl. The man looked a lot like Michael. That has to be his dad and little sister. Michael let go of my arm and slowly drifted out of our hiding place. Everyone saw him and froze in their tracks. Michael stared at his dad and little sister. His dad smiled and Michael ran up to hug him.

I hadn't realized I was crying until now. I missed my mom and dad. I missed Teagan. I missed my grandma and my horses. They ran off the day Teagan was slaughtered. Michael was talking with them and hugging everyone. One of the girls pointed towards the bag I left there. Michael looked at it for a moment and then gazed at me. I hope my eyes weren't red. I stumbled out from my hiding place. Everyone just stared at me.

"So, this belongs to you?" Michael's dad spoke giving his daughter to Michael and picked up my bag.

"yeah..." I whispered. He gave me a nice smile and handed me the bag.

"So Mike, did you run off to see her?." A man laughed.

"Haha, very funny Nick." Okay, so that man is Nick.

"I don't know. She's awfully pretty, I would've run away too." The other man said laughing,

Michael shook his head. I felt the heat rise into my cheeks.

"So, is there anyone else hiding in the trees we should know about?"  The man questione in a light tone. They were oddly nice to me.

"Nope, you just missed them," Michael said sarcasitcally.

"So, does this young lady have a name?" The older man said.

"Katherine."

"How about your full name sweetie?" The older woman asked.

"Katherine May Lopez." I was surprised that I still remembered my full name.

"That's a pretty name." one of the girls said.
