I took my phone out of my pocket and dialed my boyfriend Greg's number. A car beeped its horn at me as I wandered into oncoming traffic.

He hadn't answered in two days and I was getting worried, which when I'm worried, it comes out as anger. Most of my emotions come out as anger when I try to express them.

On the fourth ring Greg answered.

"Hello?" A breathless Greg answered. I swore I heard panting in the background but it was probably my worrying causing hallucinations.

"What the hell, Greg?! Why are you avoiding me?" I screamed a little too loud.

"Hey, I um, I have to go Haley, I'm busy." This time I was sure I wasn't imagining things. Clear as day, I heard a moan in the background and Greg chuckled.

"Are you fucking cheating on me?!" The other end was silent. I waited a second and there was no response. My phone made a beeping noise. The son of a bitch hung up on me.

"Fucking asshole." I mumbled right as I ran into someone. The ground was cold and wet as I collapsed into a heap on top of it.

"I'm so sorry." An average height guy with long black hair sprouting from a dark grey beanie, black rimmed bright blue eyes, and three lip piercings said. He extended a hand to help me up.

"No thanks." I growled and pushed myself off of the ground.

"Are you okay?" He questioned as I attempted, but failed, to walk past him.

"Yeah, completely fine, stranger." I grumbled and moved forward a little and he inched in front of me. Man this guy was persistent.

"It's Ricky, and no you're not, I can see it written all over your face." He looked sincerely concerned. I know he wasn't though, he was just acting and trying to be nice like everybody else who didn't like me but also didn't want to hurt my feelings.

"Yeah, I'm sure you care a lot. I need to get going." I said, pulling down my sleeves that I hadn't noticed rolled up.

I forced my way passed him and down the sidewalk.

I pulled out my headphones and pushed them into my ears. My IPod went to shuffle and started playing "You Only Live Once" by Suicide Silence.

I walked slowly down the street, not caring to look where I was. My mind was in a different place. I was looking forward to getting back to my apartment.

The pavement beneath my feet turned a painted white as I realized I had once again walked into oncoming traffic. This time I wasn't so lucky though. I looked up to see a silver truck speeding through a green light. Shit, there was no time to move so I just stood there caught off guard.

Next thing I knew, I was on the pavement a few feet away.

I felt at peace inside. I couldn't move, but I wasn't panicked. Maybe death had finally heard my calls and came to join me. My eyes were going in and out of blackness and I felt my body drifting off.

By now, multiple figures were standing over me shouting, even though I didn't hear anything they were saying. Come to think of it, I didn't hear anything, not even the music that had once been playing.

I saw faint flashing lights and drifted off into the black abbess that had been beaconing for so long.
