Ricky's POV
I sat shaking in the back seat of the bright yellow cab with Devin by my side. I know that I shouldn't get my hopes up about the cops being able to help find Haley, but what else am I supposed to do?
"Ricky, calm down. You're shaking the whole car." Devin advised, laying a gentle hand on my knee. I let out a shaky breath as the vehicle slid to a halt in front of the plain looking brick building. Devin pulled out his worn black wallet and hastily handed the driver a few crumpled up bills.
"Thanks!" He yelled over his shoulder, following my running form into the station.
"Hello, Miami Metro Police Department, how can I help you?" The average height, buff looking man asked from behind the counter.
"I was wo-" The man stopped me with a finger as the phone cut through my sentence. Looking down, a curly brown sprig of hair fell in front of his mahogany irises.
"Miami Metro, what can I do for you?" He asked in the same voice he had to me as he pushed the piece of hair back into place on his pale skin with his thick fingers.
"Ricky, relax," Devin whispered from beside me, "You're shaking like a chiuahua." The stress that has been building inside of me had transformed into a scorching rage, causing my body to tremmer uncontrollably. The energy surged from my chest, down my tattooed arms, and into my hands until I couldn't hold it anymore. My fists clenched and I sent them hurling toward the wooden countertop in front of the man that was happily chatting away on the phone. A deafening boom sounded from the impact and the contents atop the desk were sent flying into the air, including an old coffee that splashed all over the asswipe-cop.
"What the fuck?!" He screeched, throwing the phone.
"I need you to put the fucking phone down, SIR!" I roads in reply.
"Sir, come with me." A short woman in uniform, with a gleeming badge pinned to her top, motioned to me in hopes that I would follow her. I nodded to Devin to come as well.
"Are you going to arrest me for spilling his coffee?" I scoffed.
"No, I hate Peters, he gets payed for sitting on his ass and talking on the phone." She chuckled, stopping at a frosted glass door at the end of the stuffy hallway.
Devin and I sat in the two chairs positioned in from of her oak desk.
"Officer Morgan," She said, reaching over the paperwork to shake our hands, "Now, can I actually do something for you?"
"I was here a couple of days ago about a missing persons case; Haley Amanda Young." She nodded, slipping a file from her desk.
"Yes, we have no leads at the moment. Anything new?"
"I was wondering if you could trace her number to see the last time that it was on?" Officer Morgan's face lit up.
"It's definitely worth a try," She turned toward her computer monitor and clicked a few times, "What's her phone number?"
"717-889-2961." I replied from memory. She typed in the numbers and did whatever the fuck else cops do when the search that shit. After reading something, she immediately grabbed the phone and dialed a number.
"This is Officer Morgan, I need a squad on South Quentin Street, missing persons, possibly armed. Looking for a thin female with black hair, average height." I shot out of my seat at her words, "Mr. Olson, you and your friend are welcome to ride in my vehicle to the location, but you have to stay there until further notice." Devin and I nodded, following her out of the building.

(Car ride time lapse)
We arrived at an average looking apartment building. There were five other cop cars parked around the front entrance with their lights flashing.
"Is the perimeter secured?" Officer Morgan called through her phone. Turning around, she nodded at us, and got out of the car. We ran inside through the double glass doors. A different officer motioned for us to take the stairs. Devin and I followed her up about three floors until we reached another door.
"How is it?" Officer Morgan asked the cop who was standing nearby.
"There's a body."
Theres a body.... His words echoed through my mind. Haley's body? My body was paralyzed. Devin pushed me toward the broken wood door. There was a group of officers standing in front of the entrance. They turned to see us, and moved out of our way. My whole world was in slow motion. Did I want to see what was on the other side of the wall? The last of the officers moved away from the door frame.
I took a deep breath, stepping forward.
This is it...
