Haley's POV

I sat frozen, staring out the window of Devin's car, silent tears spilling from the seemingly endless wells of my eyes. Taking notice, he slid his hand from the wheel, grabbing mine and giving it a comforting squeeze.

"Everything's going to be okay, love." Devin cooed. I sniffed and wiped the tears threatening to drip from the edge of my chin with the tip of my thumb.

"Thank you, Devin. I really have no friends anymore and I really appreciate you helping me out." I gave him a weak, half smile.

"Don't be rediculous, we're friends. I'm officially making you my best friend. You have no choice." He winked at me, causing a choked giggle to escape from my lips.

After a few minutes, we finally pulled into a medium sized, one floor house. The outside was covered in stone siding, with small shrubs lacing the outside of the house.

"Welcome to my humble abode, make yourself at home." Devin said, leading me inside.

The front entrance had white walls with blood red crown moulding. The kitchen was huge, to say the least. There were marble countertops around the perimeter, with a giant stainless steel refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. There were two French doors leading out to his backyard, giving a clear view of his pool.

"Damn, nice place Devin." I said, turning around to look at him. He blushed a little, leading me to what I assumed was my room.

"Alright, here you are. There's a bathroom attatched, a walk in closet, and the tv should be hooked up." He said, motioning to the corner where a flat screen rested on top of a cherry wood table. Before he went to turn around, I grabbed his wrist, pulling him in for a hug.

"Thank you so much, Devin."

"Of course, love." After he left, I sat down on the bed, looking at the mirror that was across from me. I was an utter mess.

There was a silent knock at the door. I opened it to see Devin standing with a small pile of clothes in hand.

"I figured you might want something to wear since you don't have any clothes right now." He said shyly. Giving him a warm smile, I took the pile and said my thanks. Slowly, I pushed the door closed and walked to the bathroom that was conjoined to my bedroom.

Turning the water on, I peeled my clothes off and stepped in. Sighing, I felt my muscles relax under the steaming water. Grabbing the bottle of soap that was in the corner, I scrubbed the sweat, body paint, and shame off of myself.

The urge to cut was back and worse than ever. I had fucked my life up horribly. I let myself fall for someone I barely knew, then slept with one of his best friends; I might as well hurt myself instead of others. Turning the knob of the shower, I stepped out, grabbing a towel and quickly drying off, throwing on the oversized t-shirt Devin had given me to sleep in.

Looking around the countertop, there was toothpaste, more hair products than a store, and a few odd ball items, but none of which I was looking for. My body was shaking with withdrawal, becoming consumed by the urge. I had to, I slipping into another panick attack. Turning around, I saw a linen closet. Opening the small door, I looked around until I saw what I had been searching for. Fuck, the razors are on the top shelf. Stepping on a bin that was on the floor, I pulled myself up, my hand roaming the top shelf in search for the razors. Suddenly, the lid of the bin caved in, sending me flying to the floor, along with the razors that ended up scattered about.

"Fuck!" I yelled as I collided with the cold, tile floor. I heard running outside my room as Devin burst through both my bedroom and bathroom doors, to find me laying on the floor in tears, rocking back and forth with my head in my palms.

He didn't say anything, he just wrapped his welcoming arms around me while I sobbed. Soon, my head was throbbing and I was lightheaded from hyperventilating.

The last thing I remember was Devin scooping me up and placing me in a cozy bed. It didn't take long for sleep to consume me.
