I wake with a jolt as my phone alarm goes off. It was a present from dad when I got back yesterday, to make up for the fact that I had to be in the mental prison for my fifteenth birthday.
I fake cry; it's Monday and I'm starting my new school. Well this won't be a really bad day for me at all.
I swing myself out of my bed - still in my temporary room because I haven't found another one that I like.
Taking a quick, ten minute shower, I dry myself and tie my wet hair in a bun until it dries. I never use hairdryers after a certain incident that included five year old me, my neck, and a hairdryer in the hands of my careless mother.
As I get dressed, I realise that dad forgot to buy me a tie.
"Dad! You forgot my tie!" I scream out of my door.
"Oops! Go round and ask the boys if they've got a spare one!" Dad calls, his voice husky and dry.
"Kay!" I shout back, quickly applying some nude pink lip gloss and tying my hair back in a messy bun.
It's quarter past seven by the time I'm done, so I decide they'll either be up for ages, or just getting up. Hopefully I won't wake them...
I grab my bag with my notebooks, pens and other school stuff, grab a cereal bar, and head round to their house.
I ring the bell, but after a couple of minutes, I'm still waiting. Maybe it doesn't work? I knock on the door, but there's no answer.
I roll my eyes. Why must I act as the damsel in distress?!
I walk over to the edge of the fence and scoop up a small handful of pebbles. I take a shot as I see dark blue curtains and start to throw them at the window. the first one pings back and because of the angle, almost hits me before I duck. The next one I throw, I put a spin on it and it deflects off the window into the bushes.
After two more goes of this, Leondre opens the window - an awesome one that you lift up that I thought you only saw in the movies - and leans out. In his boxers.
"Oh my God Leo, put some clothes on!" I scream up at him, laughing and averting my eyes.
"Aw, you love the view really!" he jokes. "What's got you up so early?" he calls back down.
"Um... Leo, it's Monday: we have school today." I stare up at him, shocked that he forgot and wondering why the hell Charlie or his mum hadn't gotten him up.
"Oh crap! I completely forgot! Charlie's at his dad's and is getting a lift and mum's already at work!" He runs a hand through his hair.
"Can I come in, or are we just gonna yell at each other like this?!" I grin as he blushes and pulls himself in.
"Coming!" he yells before I hear a crash, a groan and keys jangling before the door opens.
"Hey. Nice abs!" I wink at him, feeling shy all of a sudden.
"Thank you, nice ass!" he grins as I slap him.
"Can I borrow a tie as well? My dad forgot to get me one." I flush, looking down at the floor.
"Yeah, sure, come on up and see my fabulous room!" He leads me up the winding stairs and down a corridor before going through an open door into a lion-teddy-infested room.
"Wow!" I stare around the room.
"Yeah, here." he throws me a tie and it wraps around my face. I scrunch my face up as it does and laugh.
"Cheers Leo." I do it up loosely in front of a mirror, then undo it and repeat it so many times, Leo's done.
"Here, let me." He stand in front of me, though crouches so he's just smaller than me to do it.
I smile at my reflection. "It's been over six months since I've had to do one, I've got to relearn!" I look at the floor.
"How come?" Leondre asks, closing his bedroom door behind him and we run the five minute walk to school so we're not late.
"Private tutor, remember?!" I say between breaths.
"Oh, right. Here we are. I'll show you to the office." Leondre slows his pace dramatically and I fall back to.
**************
"Yes, yes, yes... okay, you seem to be a bit behind but have good grades, so maybe a tutor to bring you up to date, erm... Here's your timetable, Can you sign this to say that it's you and take it home for your dad to sign. Your medical records will have to be sent in to us, but that's all. Oh, and here's your timetable." Mr Gibbon handed me several sheets of paper and I signed a couple before folding them in half and putting them in my bag.
"Thank you." I smile before leaving.
Block E room 34 for form. If I go now, I won't be too late.
I run to the last building - the one I'm assuming is Block E. It is, and I go inside. Signs say my room is near the top, so I start climbing.
I walk in, and a wave of noise hits me.
"Hello?" The teacher comes over to me.
"Um... I'm new, I'm Emily James?" I say, shy all of a sudden.
"Yes, that's fine. Can we be quiet for a minute?" He yells, making me wince.
"This is Emily James, she's new, and I expect you to make her feel welcome, understood?" He shoots glares around the classroom.
I look at the floor until I notice Leo sat at the back chatting to his friends, totally unaware that I'm standing at the front of his classroom.
"Hey, I'm Chloe, you can come and sit with us if you want?" A nice, bubbly looking girl comes up to me.
I nod quickly and grin, picking at my school cardigan.
"I'm Chloe Finch, that's Amelia Joneston, my boyfriend Tyler Smith and his mate Nicolas - or Nic - Greene."
