Emily's POV**

---

I collapse back into the chair at the back of the classroom. Thank god it's Friday! I think I'd die if I had to go through another day of school.

"Tough day?" Leo drops in next to me and I just lean forwards onto the desk in response.

"Long week."

"I know, Em, I know." Leo sighs, but just slumps back into his chair.

We sit in a tired silence for about half an hour, before he leans forwards and hands his phone to me. I open one eye and peek at the screen. It's Snapchat, I know that, but I don't have it.

"What?" I ask, my voice strained.

"Do you not have it?" He asks and I shake my head, closing my eyes again and trying to fall asleep again. "Would you like to come over after school?" He rests his head on the table to try and look at my face. I smile at him and nod slightly, before yawning and sitting up.

"Twenty minutes to go and then we're done for the weekend. Come on Emily, you can do this." I try to talk myself up.

"Are you giving yourself a pep talk?" Leo looks at me strangely.

"Question is, aren't you?" I smirk at him as he tries to work out if what I said made sense a response. It didn't really, but he doesn't notice.

"Anyway, will you play for me?" He reaches behind me, leaning forwards towards me to get the guitar behind me.

"What, here?" I ask, looking around at the students composing.

"Yeah. Well we do actually need to compose something by the concert on Monday night. I was thinking we could do something together, seeing as you said you don't sing."

"Can you rap with a guitar?!" I raise my eyebrows, surprised.

"No, but I sometimes sing." he smiles, looking away from me.

I grin, taking the guitar from him and start playing the most recent song I've written.

"Morning daughter! Would you and your two boys like a lift in my new fancy car?" My dad winks at me and I stare at him in horror.

"Dad, please don't ever do or say that ever again." I swallow.

He looks upset, and I can hear Leo laughing behind me.

"Thank you, Mr James, we'd love a ride home." Charlie's choking back a laugh as well while I'm mortified, glaring at my father.

"Oh, good! See, they appreciate me!" He turns his nose up and stalks off and I end up laughing at his ridiculousness.

"Come on then." I run after him, my bag hitting my back, Charlie and Leo in close pursuit.

We pile into the car, Charlie and dad in the front, me and Leo in the back.

"Music! Who wants the aux chord?" Dad yells, and there's scrabbling between charlie and Leo as to who can get their phone connected first. Leo's just about to do it when I take it off him and connect my phone.

"Hey, no fair!" Leo whines, and I laugh, grinning evilly at him.

"All's fair in the game of music!" I declare, and Charlie chuckles, taking my phone and putting on my most recent playlist on spotify. It ends up playing music from The Tide, The Vamps and Ed Sheeran.

"So when I call you in the middle of the night
And I'm choking on the words 'cause I miss you
Baby, don't tell me I'm out of time
I got so much of my loving to give you
In the middle of the night!" We're all singing, but the music is so loud it still drowns us out.
