I do a double take on the road, making sure no one will run me over. Me and Vincent walk quickly across the street and we finally reach the doors. The sign above the door says 'Club Ten' in neon lights

"What's the ten for?" I ask staring up at Vincent as he opens the door for me

"Not sure" he says with a shrug while the music floods out from inside

It's loud, very loud, he grabs my hand and leads me in. In the back are tables and booths, a step down in the middle and in front of the stage, is a dance floor with sweaty bodies jumping and pumping around, grinding on whoever is near. Different colored lights stream from the stage moving in all different directions, I smell sweat and a mix of smoke and alcohol in the air, I fight the urge to crinkle my nose. Vincent looks back at me as he pulls us over to a circular red lined booth. I slide in after him "this is just the opener the real band is coming on next" he tells me and I nod looking up on the stage

Three guys are singing and playing there instruments, one shirtless guy hold the microphone and the stand in his hand singing his heart out. Thankfully it's no screamo band. Another has his head banging at the drums and the last one has a long ponytail and is running his fingers up and down the guitar making notes I've never heard. I start to sway in my seat, the lyrics are uplifting but also deep and I try to listen carefully to detect their meaning.

I stare across the dance floor, people in black, red and other dark colors dance across the floor, most with there eyes shut and there body's flowing with the rhythm of the music. A man comes and blocks my view of the floor, I look over to him to see he's wearing a black suit, his undershirt is bright with red, pink and orange stripes and its unbuttoned revealing his chest hair that's swirling out of the open material. He has dark hair and darkly tanned skin, a fresh beard covers his chin and jaw, he smiles down at me with white teeth.

"Hi there" he says

I smile warily up at him, hardly hearing what he said, I look over at Vincent and he looks happy, his gaze on the man familiar. I'm assuming this is the friend  he was talking about "Tobias" he rolls his eyes and steps out of the booth, he stands shaking his hand "always trying to steal my girl" he chuckles patting Tobaias' back and shaking his hand

I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel about that last part...

"Well it's not my fault you get the good ones" he laughs looking over at me

I smile and extend my hand out still seated in the booth "I'm Adeline" I say loudly over the music that I'd rather be dancing to

"It's nice to meet you Adeline, haven't seen Vincent here in a while but who knew he'd end up here with such a beautiful young woman" he says looking me over "he always did have good luck" he says looking at Vincent

I don't think Vincent really 'has' me...I mean I am married, the thought makes me feel dirty and I quickly shake it away knowing that Theo doesn't think about me for half a second when he does his...thing.

"So how do you feel about the band?" Vincent asks

"I'm pretty confident, they're good and from the amount of people here so far I think I'll give them a deal" he says but then turns to me "this is my bar, I usually have bands that I'm interested in come in and play for a crowd and if I get a positive response I usually sign with them" he explains running a hair through his curls
