I yawn as the sun leaks through the windows of our home. I smile and turn over on the large fluffy bed, reaching for Vincent; I find he isn't there. I sigh and open my eyes, taking in the room. White walls, large windows lined in dark oak, king size bed with a cream plush comforter. Clear French doors lined with dark oak opening out into the living room, ebony nightstands with white laps, and a wall of book cases filled with my books that used to be in the library of the house I choose to never go back to. Again I smile thinking about my new life, new home, new carefree set of mind, and new Husband...well almost.
The wedding is still being planned, there was an...unexpected blessing before we could and haven't had the chance to still. The night after Theo was sentenced to life me and Vincent shared a....intimate night. Then nine months later our first Daughter was born, Alice Marie King...middle name after his Mother.
Marie passed away two month before she was born, Vincent took it pretty hard but he knew she was suffering after what Theo did and her disease kept getting worse. Her funeral was beautiful, Vincent made sure it was the best. Edward pitched in a considerable amount even after doing so well at keeping Marie hidden away. Vincent and his Father are doing better, Vincent's still weary of becoming close but he knows he has to forgive him. Vincent has taken over the company and Edward has officially retired....but still checks in. They try to have lunch once in a while and Edward has become a lovely Grandfather to Alice.
As for me and my parents, we're better. My Mother has changed completely after Alice was born. She treats her like a princess and actually cares for her, something I never felt when I was young. My Father has become less stiff and smiles more. His company is still small but day after day he's getting more business after Theo's business was taken down. Vincent offered to fund his company but my Father didn't want to get into that again, he wants to earn it.
Vincent and Annie are as close as ever, just like before Vincent's asked and offered many times over the past two years to get her a bigger store and home but she still refuses to leave her memory filled store. Alice of course can not read yet but just as Vincent's Mother did him I take Alice to Annie's store once a week and read her picture books and, even at her young age, the Great Gatsby, the passed on story. But I think, like her Mom, she'll fall for the passion in Jane Eyre, which Annie of course has a copy off. Most of the time Alice falls asleep in my arms while I read to her.
Alice is now two, she's the smartest and sweetest child...after my first experience with pregnancy and then the false alarm I was nervous when I found out but she's and angel and I couldn't ask for a better Daughter or Father of my child.
I stretch and listen for Vincent but I see him walking in holding a sleepy looking Alice. I smile immediately and sit up but groan holding my large stomach. I laugh when I feel him kicking and soon Vincent sits next to me. I look up at him and he looks down at my stomach, placing his free hand over my shirt while the other holds Alice. His naked chest pluses my racing hormones makes me wish I woke up before Alice did and keep him in bed for a little while. I lick my lips and shake my head, his dark hair is messy but looks so touchable, his tan face has a dark stubble after not shaving for a few days, golden eyes making me feel warm all over, and lips...so damn kissable.
"Mommy" she stretches from her daddy's hold and reaches her tiny pale hands over to me
"Come here baby girl" I smile and sit up, leanings against the wall as Vincent's hands off the blonde curly cue, her golden brown eyes like her father's sparkle in the morning sun
I hold her and lean my head on hers, her small hand reaches down on my swollen tummy "bruber" she try's to pronounce
I smile and glance up at Vincent, who stares at the two of us like we're queens "Brother" I try to make her say, pronouncing each syllable
