Reylo - Unlikely Love

The Kiss

- Rey's view -

This past week has been a blur. General Leia has asked me to help Ben return to who he was before Snoke. My response was to say yes, but deep down inside I know that I have no work to do. Because of this recent plan, Ben has been moved next door to me, so that I can keep an eye on him, another bonus, and today is the day that he will be moving in. I have to greet him, so I make my way down towards the hospital wing where General Leia is waiting for me.

"Rey, are you ready?" She asks me. I simply nod. My heart is pounding in my chest. No one knows about us, and I hope Ben remembers that. Moments later, he emerges from his room and walks towards his mother, not making eye contact with me at all.

"Ben, honey, this is Rey, your new neighbour." General Leia says.

"Hello." Ben grumbles back, this is all an act, remember that. I tell myself.

"Shall we?" I ask him and we set off towards his new apartment.

Once we are out of earshot Ben says "How are you? any new nightmares?"

I smile to myself, he still cares. "Im great, now new nightmares, just the same old ones."

"Well you better get used to them not happening, cause I am here now." He says back as he holds my hand, his fingers weave into mine. My heart rate quickens. Once we get to his apartment, I open the door and lead him in. "Taadaa!!" I exclaim, this past week I have been decorating this new apartment.

"It's perfect," he says as he smiles, "But, it is missing one thing."

I look around, "What?" I ask him.

Ben gives me a mischievous look and smirks. "What?" I ask him again.

"You." He says before he starts to chase me. I let out a little scream and run, we get into the kitchen, and I run around the island, I am laughing, this is the happiest I have been in a while. I start to run away when I become frozen.

"Hey no fair." I exclaim. "You're cheating." Ben walks closer to me, "there were never any rules." he says as he draws even closer to me. Suddenly I am able to move again, and so I run and laugh. This time I freeze him in his spot.

"Aww come on, really?" He exclaims. "I am so going to get you for this."

"No you are not." I say as I wink at him, I then head towards the door, let's test his patience shall we, I think to myself.

"Rey?" I hear him say, "Rey? Where are you going?"

"I'm tiered, I think I might go home, take a nap, you know, chill." I tell him.

"Rey, you get back here right now." I hear him say a little louder, this is too funny. I continue walking towards the door. And then just as I am about to leave, I un-freeze him.

"Oh you are so dead." he says as he runs towards me, within seconds I am engulfed in his arms, and he is hugging me tight. I feel my feet being lifted off the ground, the next thing I know, I have been thrown over one f his shoulders and he is carrying me towards the couch. He places me down gently. I sit and wait as he disappears into the kitchen. Thirty minutes pass in silence, I then see him walk in with two bowls of soup and sit next to me.

"This is for you." He says handing me a bowl.

"Thank you." I say. We eat in silence. It is almost seven thirty when we are done, I set the bowls down in front of us on his glass coffee table.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask him, he has been oddly silent.

"About how perfect this moment his." he replies "I want to just stay in this moment forever."

"Me too." I say as I crawl into his arms. Ben wraps his big arms around me, I lean into his chest.

Suddenly, I feel his fingers slip under my chin, and lift my head up. I am only centimetres away from his face, my heart beat doubles.

"You are so beautiful." He says as he leans in.

The second our lips collide, I am overwhelmed by this new emotion. There are fireworks going off in my stomach. I swing my arms behind his head and deepen the kiss. I have been waiting for this for so long. I never thought I would love someone this much. I smile into the kiss.

"I love you." Ben says our faces still inches away from each other.

"I know." I say back.
