Reylo - Unlikely Love

The Promise

- Rey's view -

I wanted to stay in this position forever, being wrapped in his arms, is the most comforting thing ever. I hear his heart beating in his chest at a constant speed, I his his slow and steady breathes, I match my breathes to his, and I let my thoughts wander. I never would have thought that I would fall for Kylo Ren, correction, Ben. I think about our last encounter, I think about the state I left him in, why does he love me? I left a scar on his face, and leaves a kiss on mine, how is that right? I pull out of the hug and trace his scar with my finger, he smiles.

"Ben." I say, "Why did you fall for me?" I ask him, I want to know the truth.

Ben starts to answer, but I never find out what he is going to say, because General Leia walks in and says. "Ben, Rey? Im here."

I am very thankful for the layout of this apartment, from the front door, the living room is not visible at all. I quickly get up and off Ben's lap, and I grab the bowls. Ben gives me a small smile and wink and walks over towards his mother. I place the bowls down and go to join them.

"Rey," General Leia says with a small smile. "How was you first day?"

"It was..." I start, but I am interrupted by Ben who says "It was fine."

"Just fine?" she asks?

"What do you want me to say mom? That it was the best day of my life?" He asks, his tone firm and angry. This is all an act, I tell myself, we have to keep it up for a while so that no one suspects anything.

"I'll go and get you a glass of water." I tell General Leia and leave. I fill up a glass but I do not return right away. I try to listen in on their conversation, but I can only hear soft murmurs as they are whispering.

"Ben, listen to me, it is time you can back to us. We have all given up so much, your father died thinking that you might change, do not let him down." I hear General Leia shout. This is my queue. I take the glass and walk over to them, I hand the glass to General Leia, but she refuses.

"Rey, may I speak with you, outside." She asks. I set the glass down and follow her out the door.

"Ben is being stubborn, as usual, but I know he can change. Please, you have to try your very best." She begins to say, tears flooding her eyes, "I have lost too much, I can't loose him too. Please bring back my Ben, you are the only one who can."

I place my hand on her shoulder, "Don't worry General, I will do everything I can, you will have Ben back, I promise you." Nothing about that is a lie, Ben has already started his journey back to the light, and I will make sure he finishes it.

"Thank you." she says "I must go, I have so many things to do. Good luck." General Leia turns around, and soon I see her disappear inside the elevator. I head back inside.

"What did she say?" Ben asks me as soon as I enter.

I then tell Ben everything that General Leia said.

"I have to do this, for them." He says.

"You can do it, don't worry, you are almost there. But let's start tomorrow, I am tiered." I tell him.

We walk into his bedroom, so much has happened today, I cannot keep track. We climb into bed, and I set my head down on his chest, I focus on his breathing, and how steady his heart beat is.

"Your eyes." He says

I look up at him, "What?"

"I fell for you because of your eyes. And not just your eyes, your smile, your hope, your beauty, and your ability to always see the good in me. There are about a million other reasons, but these are the top ones." he finishes and he kisses me on the forehead.

"I love you." This is the first time I have told anyone that I loved them, and I am glad I saved it for now.

"I love you too Rey." He says back.

"Never let me go." I say back.

"Never." He breathes. "And that is a promise.

Yo Yo Yo!! Another chapter, as promised!! I hope you guys like this.

I have a secret to tell you guys, something very major is going to happen soon, I won't tell you what, but I will tell you that it will take a while for it to end! I am actually so excited! You should see the brainstorming that I did for this book! I am actually so excited to write this! It will be filled with tons of feels so don't know worry about that!
