The sun began rise over Nuvema town. A girl was climbing up a rope ladder that she had hung the previous night against the side of a light blue house.
The girl had blond hair that was mostly covered but a light green hat with a single white strip. She had bright green eyes and wore a white, short sleeved shirt with an orange sweater vest over it. She wore a white skirt that reached her knees, with Orange leggings and white flats.
She smiled and reached upward on her rope ladder, grabbing the windowsill of the light blue house and unlatched it. She swung one leg over, than the other, and landed in the room with a soft thump!
The room was small with cream wallpaper. On one side of the room, lay a brown dresser, with a bookcase in the center, a pair of red glasses laying on top of it. The next wall over, lay a big, light green computer desk, with a pc resting in the middle, a forest green swivel chair underneath the desk. Opposite of the computer desk, lay a mattress with an aqua blanket and pillow. On the mattress lay a boy, sleeping peacefully.
The girl sighed. 'Boys are so cute when they sleep! ...yeah...'
The came round the side of the bed and yanked the covers of the boy.
Startled, the boy yelped and looked upward, his eyes wide and alert. His eyes turned to the girl, who had exploded in laughter.
"Good morning, Cheren!"
The boy looked at his clock on the wall, lit up by the sunlight streaming into his room, which read 6:30.
"Gee, you let me sleep in, Bianca!" The boy said sarcastically. "A whole thirty minutes, thanks."
"Your welcome!," said Bianca, oblivious to Cheren's sarcasm.
Cheren sighed and sat up on the bed, Bianca plopping next to him. "So, what's up?"
"Today's the day!" Bianca squealed, falling onto her back. "Later today, we get to begin our journeys!"
"Is your dad allowing you to go?" Cheren asked, slowly leaning on his back as well.
After a slight pause, Bianca said, "Well, not really. He won't accept I'm gone till I'm gone..."
"Well, I'm sure he'll come around." Cheren tried to cheer her up.
"Yeah, I guess... Hey!" Her mood immediately changed, "Which Pokemon are you going to pick?"
"I'm not sure. But I'm going to pick one that has a disadvantage and train it to prove that I can beat anyone."
"Are you still going to try to beat the champion, Alder?"
"Yeah, I want to become the strongest and become the Unova Pokemon Champion!"
Bianca smiled. "Of course you do! Now let's get ready!"
Cheren stared at her. "Bianca, Its only 6:30. Why couldn't have you let me sleep?"
"Oh, come on! Please, please, please?"
Cheren groaned. "Fine..."
"Yay!"
After 2 and a half hours of listening to Bianca rant, Cheren was glad they were walking to Professor Juniper's lab, where trainers receive their starter Pokemon when they begin their journeys.
As they walked to the door, they saw a large see-through glass dome filled with plants and wild Pokemon.
They knocked on the white door of the lab.
A brown haired woman wearing a white lab coat and red high heels opened the door. She smiled at them.
"Are you Bianca and Cheren? The two new trainers?"
"Yes, we are. Are you Professor Juniper?" Cheren asked, politely.
"Yep, that's me! Come on in. The starters are over here."
They followed professor Juniper to a small, but cozy room. There were two sofas seated around a circular peach colored table that held a rectangular box. Bianca sat on one sofa and professor Juniper sat on the other.
"Isn't there supposed to be 3 of you?"
Cheren shrugged. "It's only us, ever since our friend left Nuvema."
"Do you remember why she left? Cause I don't." Bianca replied, trying to remember. It looked like hard work.
"Well, either way, you 2 need to pick your starter Pokemon." Professor Juniper leaned over and opened the rectangular box and turned it so it faced the two trainers. Inside the box, held three pokeballs.
"Snivy, Oshawott, and Tepig. One of them will be your partner during your journey. Have you decided which one you will pick?"
Bianca shook her head and Cheren sighed.
"Not yet, huh? No worries, while you guys pick, I gotta find some paperwork for you guys. Be back soon!" Professor Juniper stood up and walked Into another room, the door swinging shut behind her.
The two trainers looked at each other.
"Ladies first," Cheren gestured to the box.
Bianca opened her mouth, probably to argue over their predicament, when the sound of glass shattering came from the next room over, opposite of where Professor Juniper had disappeared.
Startled, Bianca fell forward, knocking the box onto the floor. There was a burst of red light from the pokeballs, and three Pokemon figures emerged.
The first was a small orange pig, with a brown spiral tail and ears. It snorted a small a flame from its snout like a greeting. "Tepig!"
The second was a white sea otter, with a blue underbelly that had a seashell in the middle. "Oshawott!"
The third was green with a tail in the shape of a leaf. It sniffed the air shyly. "Snivy"
Cheren leaned forward and quickly caught Bianca before she hurt herself and looked where the shattering came from. "What in "Arceus's name was that!?"
"I...I don't know... But I know how I'm gonna find out!" Bianca pulled out of Cheren's grip and ran towards the room.
"Bianca!" Cheren scrambled after her. When he finally caught up with her, who had stopped and was staring in wonder, he chastised, "what are you thinking? That could be anything! You really should be....more... Woah!"
Just like Bianca was doing, through with less excitement, he marvelled at his surroundings. They were inside a the large glass dome they had seen walking in. There were large ferns and bushes surrounding the inside perimeter of the dome. There were hundreds of bright, colorful flowers as fast as the eye could see, and wild Pokemon playing happily in the dome. There were Lillipups, Wingull, cottnee, Foongus, Deino, Swaddle, Patrat, Lilligant, and loads more who were all seemed happy.
"This is incredible!" Bianca exclaimed her face alight with joy.
Cheren, on the other hand, was focused on something else. "Bianca..."
"Hmm?" She turned and followed his gaze and gasped. There was a gap in the glass dome, with pieces of glass littered around the ground below. A few feet away, lay a pair of red and green wings ,rising and falling slowly, that belonged to something. Something alive.
The two trainers stared at the scene before them. A drop of water plopped onto Cheren's face. He looked up. It had begun to rain outside, small droplets of water dripping through the gap.
A small figure walked cautiously up to the breathing figure, almost hidden in the flowers because of its colors. The figure sat up, startling the Pokemon, which zoomed into the bushes. The figure had its back to the trainers, its large wings obscuring its face and body.
Cheren stepped protectively in front of Bianca and peered at the figure. "Are those Flygon wings?"
At these words, the figure turned quickly at him. It was a girl with green hair and red goggles.
Bianca looked at her. "Are you a cosplayer?"
The girl blinked. "Cosplayer?"
Cheren sighed. "Bianca, nows not the time." He looked at the girl. "Did you break the dome?"
"I didn't mean to, honest! I just crashed through it..."
"Where you in a helicopter or something?" Bianca asked.
"What's a helicopter?"
"How did you crash through the dome?"
"...I.....well.....I'm...not really.... Sure if I should say..." The girl looked uncomfortable. She sat rigid on the ground, as though waiting for one of them to hit her.
Bianca walked around Cheren and knelt next to the girl. "My names Bianca. The boy behind me is Cheren. We're not going to hurt you. Can you please tell us what happened?"
The girl looked up at Bianca in surprise. She looked at Cheren, who nodded. She glanced around the dome.
"Just the two of you?" Bianca nodded.
The girl shuddered and began speaking. "I'm Minene..." And she told them the entire story. (Let's be real. I'm too lazy to rewrite it -.-)
The two trainers listened closely. They were a good audience. They gasped at the right places. And when she told them about Dr. Colress' plan, Bianca screamed.
"Then how did you end up here? Where were you going to go? What were you going to do?"
"Easy, Bianca. Let her speak." Cheren sweatdropped.
"Well, I was flying around. I hadn't...really...left the palace yet. Something held me back....I'm not sure what it was though... Then I heard this huge noise! I got scared, cause you know, any noise that sounds loud scares me, and I transformed into this form for saftey. As I did that though, my leg started hurting. I knew I had to stop and find out what happened. But that didn't quite happen. As I was going down, my wing started hurting again, And I couldn't fly. So I tried to make a somewhat safe landing,but..." She looked around. "Close enough."
"What are you?" Bianca asked.
Minene twisted around and looked at her leg. A red liquid was dripping down her right leg. Her leg was bleeding.
"Minene, your bleeding!" Bianca stared, shocked at her leg.
"I don't know what you are worried about. I bleed all the time."
"I don't care!" Bianca grabbed Minene's arms and tried to get her to stand. "I'm gonna get you help!"
Her eyes widened and she yanked her body away from Bianca with a surprising amount of strength for such a skinny girl. "No! I can't let myself be seen yet!"
"Ugh, never mind that, you need help!"
"No...you...you can't make me!"
"Relax, we'll just tell Professor Juniper!" Bianca said. "She's super nice! You don't have to worry about her!"
Cheren bent down and slung one of her arms around his shoulder. "Come on." Bianca slung her other arm and helped her back to the sofas.
Already in the room, Professor Juniper was holding the fallen box. Her eyes widened at the sight of Minene. She rushed over. "What happened!?"
When Cheren retold the story, Professor Juniper nodded. "So that's how the dome got broken...Minene come with me."
When she looked frightened, Professor Juniper smiled. "I'm going to fix your wound. I promise I won't hurt you."
Minene contemplated this. This woman didn't seem harmless. Neither did these other kids. She felt like she could trust them. For now.
She nodded once, and Professor Juniper helped her into a different room, leaving the other two trainers in the sofa room.
Bianca turned towards Cheren. "Do you know what this means!?"
"This girl is dangerous to be around since someone is hunting her down?"
"No, Cheren! Professor Juniper might give her a chance to go on a journey like us! We can travel together!!" Bianca squealed.
"Bianca! We could get hurt traveling with her, plus, I don't fully believe her about this DNA stuff." Cheren said stubbornly.
"I don't know...it seem pretty real to me. She had wings!"
Cheren mumbled under his breath. The door reopened and Professor Juniper stepped out. "Minene, come on out!"
"I-i am actually good with staying in here! Yeah, I'll do that!"
Professor Juniper breathed out a sigh and leaned into the doorway. She grabbed Minene's wrist and pulled her out. The two trainers stared. The girl with green hair and red goggles was gone.
In her place stood a,very shy, snowy white haired girl. She had bandages wrapped all the way up her arms, and some around her neck. Professor Juniper had given her a simple purple tank top that flowed out at her waist like a skirt. Underneath she wore black short shorts. Her snowy hair had been combed and flowed freely down her back, reaching her bare feet. She shyly looked at everyone through her bangs.
Bianca squealed and twirled around Minene, getting a better look. "You look amazing!"
Her cheeks gave off a faint, pinkish glow. "Really?"
"You look a whole lot different, that's for sure. But in a good way" Cheren smiled.
"I've got an idea! Follow me!" Bianca grabbed her wrist and pulled her into the dome. Everyone followed, curiously. Bianca bent down in a field of flowers and began picking some. Professor Juniper's Tepig bounded forward and nuzzled Bianca's leg. Bianca giggled. "Do you wanna help?" Tepig snorted and ran in happy circles around Bianca. Cheren walked over and sat next to her. Professor Juniper's Oshawott climbed up his back and sat, almost obediently, on his shoulder. Cheren smiled.
Minene sat on the other side of Bianca watching her curiously. She seemed to be tying something to the back of a flower.
"Okay Minene, turn your head to the side."
Minene turned and Bianca placed a flower in her hair. It was a blooming, magenta amaryllis. It was darker than her tank top, but was still pretty.
Bianca then grabbed her wrist and wrapped something around it. Minene looked at it. It was the same flower, but Bianca had tied pieces of grass around it to make a bracelet. She put a matching one on her other wrist.
Bianca picked up a bright red rose and, careful to remove all the thorns, placed it on Cheren's hat. Cheren's face went a bright pink at the gesture, and he quickly turned his head away.
The bush next to Minene rustled, and a small green Pokemon, almost hidden in the grass, poked its head out. It was Professor Juniper's Snivy.
It stared at the other starters. They were playing happily. Bianca caught sight of it. She squealed, causing it to guide behind Minene.
She looked at the starter, curious. She smiled and slowly held out her hand. Snivy peeked its head at her and slowly came out. She cautiously sniffed Minene's hand, then flinched when she lightly patted its head.
She untied one of the flower bracelets Bianca made and camly tied it around Snivy's neck. She patted it softly once more and turned her head to Bianca, whom had began speaking again.
"I think I'm going to choose you!" She picked up the Tepig and hugged it happily.
Cheren looked at the Oshawott sitting on his shoulder. "Want to be partners?" The Oshawott nodded vigorously, as though waiting for him to ask that.
Professor Juniper smiled. "Alright then! I guess that settles that!"
"Wait! What about Snivy?" Bianca asked, pointing to it. Upon hearing its name, Snivy hid behind Minene.
Professor Juniper sighed. "She's too scared. She was locked up against her will until we found it."
Snivy climbed up Minene's shoulder and hid in her snowy hair. It looked at everyone cautiously.
'Just like me...' Minene thought. Bianca looked at her sadly. Than she immediately brightened and yelled, "That's it!!"
Minene flinched and she felt Snivy shaking. "Um, what's it?"
Bianca grabbed Minenes hands and practical shattered her eardrums squealing, "You should go on a journey with us!"
