CHAPTER 4:
----Kellin's POV-----
It was a little awkward driving Vic to my house, but every once in a while, I heard him sniffle.
I pulled into the parking lot and stopped in my designated spot. I turned off the car and sighed.
"Well, we're here. I'll get your bag."
I climbed out and ran around to open Vic's door. He stepped out and hugged me again. I wrapped my arms around him and rubbed his back soothingly. The old woman that lived next to me gave us dirty looks out of her front window but I gave him right back.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Vic stuttered, pulling away from my chest and wiping his eyes. "I feel awful for this. We just met and now I'm temporarily living in your fucking house, and-"
"Vic, it's okay. I'm totally fine with this. From what I saw today, I'm happy to get you out of there."
He wiped his eyes again and I grabbed his bag out of the backseat. We headed up the stairs to my door. I fumbled with my keys for a while before I finally got the freaking door open. I silently thanked my lucky stars that I'd completely cleaned the entire apartment yesterday. All the dishes were clean, the floor was swept and both bedrooms were vacuumed.
"Wow, this place is pretty nice. You live here by yourself?"
"Yeah, after my mom died, my aunt bought her house off of me. I was also the sole beneficiary, so I got all her life insurance. I live pretty comfortably." I have to admit, I was showing off a little, trying to impress him.
I let him explore a bit before going to the kitchen to make us dinner. I had also gone shopping so I had more than Ramen noodles.
"So, Vic, what do you want to eat for dinner?"
"Whatever. I'm not picky, as long as it doesn't have any nuts in it. I'm allergic."
I tried to leave it alone, but I had to make a joke. "Gay and allergic to nuts? A bit contradictory, don't you think?" I winked before turned back to the fridge. He started laughing so hard, he was having trouble breathing.
"Tell you what. I'll make you steak, cheesy rice and fried potatoes. How does that sound?"
"Sounds awesome!" He cried. "I'm gonna go unpack, if that's okay."
I took all the stuff I'd need out of the cupboards before nodding. He came back about ten minutes later with a bundle of clothes and a couple bottles of what looked like face wash and body wash.
"Can I, uh, take a shower? I'm all dirty from my front yard. I don't have to if you're uncomfortable with that..."
"Vic, you're gonna be living here for a little bit. Of course you can shower. Bathroom's across from my room." He headed off in that direction.
I was happily cooking for about twenty minutes while I could hear the shower going. I tried really, really hard not to think about Vic, all wet in the shower, but it was totally impossible.
However, after another half an hour after the shower had gone off, I decided to go check on him. Dinner was ready anyway.
I peeked my head into the bathroom, but he wasn't there. I investigated his room and the living room. When I had no other choice, I went to my room. I found him there, searching through my closet. He had on boxers and a long sleeve undershirt. His boxers didn't have an opening in the front, thank God.
He didn't hear me, so I let him dig around for a while. Finally, I couldn't take it anymore.
I leaned against the door frame and crossed my arms. "Find what you're looking for yet?"
He jumped at the sound of my voice and turned towards me. "Kellin! I'm really sorry, I was just curious and-"
I laughed lightheartedly. "Dude, it's cool. I have nothing to hide. But unless you wanna see my extensive condom and lube collection, that I never use, don't look in my top drawer in the desk by my bed." He looked a little awkward so I walked over and slung my arms around his neck. "C'mon, kid, dinner's ready."
He followed me to the dining room and we ate dinner, talking about nothing important. He asked me about me, just regular stuff. He asked me about my tattoos, and I explained the music notes on my forearms and I pulled the neckline of my tank top down to show him the one that says, "Before 'You' I Serve Nothing."
After dinner, we did the dishes and talked over Pepsi and popcorn for a while. We went to bed after I looked at Vic's bruises. He had a pretty nice black eye, and a huge purple one on his right cheek bone. I offered to look at his arms and chest too but he became very defensive and refused.
We had parted to our rooms two hours before his voice jerked me out of my sleep. He was standing at my door, obviously shirtless and wearing the same boxers. It was too dark to see any detail.
"Kellin? Are you awake?"
"Yeah," I replied groggily. "What do you need?"
"Can I... can I sleep in here? I can sleep on the floor if you want." He sounded very small and childish.
I patted the other side of the bed and he walked over. He got under the covers and got situated.
"I really appreciate this, Kellin."
"I know. Don't go all mushy on me, kid. Next thing I know, you're gonna ask if we can cuddle." I laughed before rolling over so my back was to Vic."
"Could we?" He whispered so I could barely hear it.
"Could we cuddle?"
"Seriously?" I sat up on my elbows and looked at him. He rolled over and and faced me, blankets up to his chin.
"Yeah, just a little?" He looked so cute I couldn't refuse.
"Okay, come be my little spoon," I said with a chuckle. He wormed over to me and turned so I could put my arm around his stomach under the covers. His skin was really soft and he was warm. He pushed his back against my bare chest. I knew we'd be sticking together by morning but I was okay with that. The last thing he did was grab my hand and intertwine his fingers with mine. We were quiet for a while, letting the darkness settle around us.
"This is nice," he said.
"This is the fastest I've ever gotten a freshman in my bed, to be quite honest,"I laughed. He laughed too and jabbed his elbow into my ribs.
It took a while for me to be comfortable with another person being in my bed, pressed against my bare skin. I was never much of a cuddler, but I had a feeling with Vic here, that could change.
