"Kira found Brett, they're fine but gotta go." Scott was carrying his helmet, assuming that James who had changed out his old clothing and was waiting with Liam on the couch could follow in the car.

"More assassins?" Liam asked, standing up and following the alpha. James stood up quickly to follow them both into the kitchen. "Different from the ones that just tried to set us on fire?"

"Maybe a lot more, and I think so." Scott opened the back door, but neither of his betas were moving. Both of them were scared, it wasn't like that had any reason not to be. They were on a dead pool for eighteen million dollars, they were being hunted and they didn't even know how to control a shift. Scott seemed like a natural when it came to saving people, James understood why Scott was a true alpha.

Scott closed the door, seeing a familiar expression James' face, the same one from the day of the SAT's, after James' fought with his mother. Scott placed his helmet on the cabinet close by. "How about I make sure you two get home safely." He smiled softly. Scott didn't want to force either of his betas to go anywhere that they didn't want too. Especially if they didn't feel like they were ready.

"I'm not like you." Liam sighed, looking at the kitchen table.

"Not yet." Scott tried to understand, thinking that Liam was talking about strength.

"I don't mean I'm not strong or I'm never gonna learn how to be in control." Liam began to explain, his voice was soft and it wasn't difficult to tell he was sad and frightened. "I mean everything else. You and your friends try to protect everyone." Liam glanced over at James, the one who had barely spoken since Scott got the call from Kira; saying that their were more assassins going after some of Satomi's back.

"This isn't me Scott. I've never been the one to save complete strangers if it meant I could die." James spoke simply, Liam looked over at the alpha waiting for a response.

"James you went up to the roof to save Liam the night I bit you, you proved that you're willing to save people's lives if it came down to that. I'm not going to make you come with me tonight, I'll understand and so will everyone else."

"Have you guys always been like this? Saving everyone?" James asked, tilting his head. Scott thought about it for a second before nodding.

"How are you all still alive?" Liam asked, Scott stared at him before looking down.

"Not all of us are." Scott spoke in a slight whisper, James thought about the first two names. Those people were dead, and James put together that Scott had a deeper connection to the key names than James first thought. "I'm going to make sure you both get home safely, okay?"

"I think Satomi and them need you more right now Scott." James smiled. "We'll be fine." Scott frowned at the two, looking over at Liam to see if he was okay with it. Liam was more frightened than James was at the moment. Liam slowly nodded, adding a weak smile. Which didn't help prove the point that James wanted to prove, it was already an iffy point because both of them were terrified at the moment.

"Okay, if something happens call me." Scott demanded, James nodded understand. "Good, I'll see you guys at school." Scott stared a couple more seconds, before leaving them alone.

"Come on Liam, your house is like twenty minute drive." James smiled leading Liam towards the front of the house, Liam remained silent as usual. "You seem really shaken up, do you wanna stay at my place?" James asked awkwardly, although James stated it to make Liam felt better it was mainly for James himself because he wasn't comfortable at the moment staying alone. Especially with a lot more assassins that were different from the ones that attacked them only hours ago.
