Hi, and welcome to the first issue of tropical sunsets magazine! I am nicoleo492,but you can call me Nicole. I will be writing non-Wattpad book reviews! Even though there are millions of books to read on Wattpad, some of us still like to take a trip to the library. In this issue, I will be reviewing Divergent, by Veronica Roth.
Divergent is set in a futuristic Chicago, which consists of five factions. These factions are: Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, and Erudite. Beatrice was born in the faction Abnegation, which is known for its selflessness and generosity towards others. She lives with her parents and her brother, Caleb. When Beatrice turns sixteen, she gets to pick which faction she wants to live in for the rest of her life. She goes to school for an aptitude test, which will recommend one or two factions that she will be best suited for.
But Beatrice gets three results, which is very rare. Beatrice is now classified as Divergent. The Divergent are believed to have special powers and are hunted by the government. On choosing day, Beatrice picks something unusual, Dauntless. The brave, the fearless, the strong. Beatrice joined not knowing about the almost impossible initiation ahead.
Tris surprises everyone with her skills, and with her motivating instructor, Four, she makes her way to the top. But when Erudite attacks Abnegation, her family’s faction, everything goes downhill from there.
The second book, Insurgent, is now in stores! Allegiant, the third book, is coming to stores soon! Also, the movie for Divergent is in the making! Better hurry and read the books!
