Hello Kiddies,
We are here today to talk about some grammar how to's.
But before that I just want to remind everyone to use spell check. I personally misspelled a few words but if it's almost every word; then please stop. I get it if you're from another country where English isn’t the number one language but I'm looking at you, United States and other countries that mostly speak English. Go to Microsoft Word or Google or whatever program they have for the Mac and use spell check. That's right; those little squiggly red lines are not for decoration. But seriously, nothing makes you look like an eight year writer than bad spelling and grammar.
Anyway, let's begin with the grammar how to's.
First things first... capitalization.
Capitalize the letter after the period. For ex: The girl walks into a store. She's greeted by the cool air.
Also capitalize every “I” pertaining to the first tense. For example: I went to the party with my friend. She and I got along so well. When I'm in trouble, she's always there for me.
Capitalize proper nouns like places and names also. For ex: Smiling, Margaret walked into her favorite store, Rainbow.
Alright, next is punctuation.
Me So this one guy was hot he was talking to me the other day and I just stop staring at his face outside I was calm but on the inside I was really bouncing i cant get enough of him Im just getting super hot under his piercing stare am I being way too excited I should get these things from the store to make him more attractive to me lipstick hair extension lip gloss mascara eye liner
Test question: Do you see all the mistakes? If you don’t, get an English book.
Let's start with periods. Most people know how to use this. There is that little percent that apparently doesn't. Periods are put after you finish a thought. So, let's recopy that with periods. Shall we? Don't forget to capitalize the letter.
Me So this one guy was hot. He was talking to me the other day and I just stop staring at his face. Outside I was calm but on the inside I was really bouncing. I cant get enough of him. Im just getting super hot under his piercing stare. Am I being way too excited I should get these things from the store to make him more attractive to me lipstick hair extension lip gloss mascara eye liner
Next are question marks. Not much there; just put it after the question.
Me So this one guy was hot. He was talking to me the other day and I just stop staring at his face. Outside I was calm but on the inside I was really bouncing. I cant get enough of him. Im just getting super hot under his piercing stare. Am I being way too excited? I should get these things from the store to make him more attractive to me lipstick hair extension lip gloss mascara eye liner.
Next are apostrophes. It's basically been made for lazy people. It combines two words into one. For ex: don't and won't - Do not and will not. Also used for possession. For ex: Gina’s hair was frizzy.
Me So this one guy was hot. He was talking to me the other day and I just stop staring at his face. Outside I was calm but on the inside I was really bouncing. I can't get enough of him. I'm just getting super hot under his piercing stare. Am I being way too excited? I should get these things from the store to make him more attractive to me lipstick hair extension lip gloss mascara eye liner.
Can't= cannot I'm= I am
Next are colons. It's= it is usually implying that there will be a list of things, when somebody is talking, or just pointing out something. For ex: This guy was just shouting four words: You are a cookie. This is important for Wattpaders who interview for their books/ magazines.
