Joe x Reader: So... Take Out?

"Shitshitshit!" you whisper panicked under your breath. Your boyfriend Joe, who was an AMAZING cook, was always making you breakfast and dinner. Now you were going to return the favor.

He was currently filming, but he's due home any time in the next hour or two. You're making of his favorites, pasta with garlic bread. You were planning to surprise him with a nice candle lit dinner waiting for him when he gets home.

You got the pasta going, and put the garlic bread in the oven. You sigh, loosening Joe's 'Kiss The Cook Baby!' apron. You were wearing his apron, a big tee of Joe's, shorts that he likes on you, and your hair in a messy bun like he likes.

You plop on the couch in the living room, exhausted.

''I'll just close my eyes..." and that's your last thought before you drift to sleep. It seems like only moments later the slamming of the front door awoke you. Your eyes shoot open to see Joe attempting to wave away some of the smoke bellowing from the oven.

"SHIT!" you yell, hopping up to help. You both clean up the mess of the over boiling noodles, and the burnt to a crisp garlic bread. You sit on the couch again, tears in your eyes.

"I just wanted to make you a dinner because you always are making ME breakfasts and dinners... I can't do anything... I don't deserve you, Joey.." you wail, burying your face in hands. He runs over to console you, putting your head on his warm chest.

"Hey, hey... Babe, it's okay.. I still love ya, even if you're a horrible cook.." he chuckled, trying to make light of it. You sniffle into his chest.

"R-really?" you ask, peering up at him, your (E/C) eyes sparkling with tears. He gives you a laugh, kissing your forehead.

"I'm not with ya for you're cooking." he says with a wink, making you giggle. He scoops you up in his arms, bridal style and carries you into the kitchen. He sits you on the counter, leaning on his elbows next to you. He looks around at the messy kitchen, merriment dancing in his eyes.

"So... take out?"
