Saturday. Six days left.
I was in the living room painting my nails as Juni played with Hajime. "So, do you like boys?" He asked and I nodded. "I like girls and boys." I said. "Dating anyone? Do I need to kick someone's ass?" He asked me.
"Not dating anyone at the moment, but hopefully soon." I smiled. "Ooh, gurl. Tell me all about it." He teased and I jerked my foot out to try and kick him.
"There's this guy I'm friends with, Hikaru, I overheard him and his twin, Kaoru, talking about his crush on me. He's been flirting with me for a while and dropping major bombs, and I used to reject him because I was scared he'd find out about my junk and not like me anymore, but since the surgery is so soon, I decided it didn't matter anyway. He's not going to want to look up my skirt so soon." I scoffed.
"Some guys do." Juni said. "Not him. He's respectful." I smiled. "Do you like him?" He asked and I blushed, looking down at my drying nails. "Yeah. I do. He's funny, and he's sweet, and he's childish and protective of everybody. And not to mention that he's hella cute." I grinned and he laughed. "Well, if you like him that much, I won't kick his ass until he hurts you." "Obviously." I rolled my eyes.
"And you're right. You look so much different without your makeup on." He said and I grinned. "It's called contouring. I basically just use dark and light makeup to trick your eyes to think that there are shadows on my face, like cheekbones or make my nose look thinner, and make it look a certain way. Contouring is a blessing, honestly." I sighed.
"How did you get your hair so long?" He asked. "I've been growing it out since I was twelve." I smiled. "Anyway, tell me this. Where's his mother?" I asked and he frowned. "She left, then died. We were engaged, and she gave birth before the wedding, and we decided to hold off the wedding, and she just got so stressed, she ODed on pain medicine. I'm all Hajime has. I thought about giving him up for adoption, but I couldn't do it. He's my little ray of sunshine." He smiled and poked Hajime on the nose.
"I'm sorry about your loss." I said and he nodded. "She's in a better, stress-free place." Juni smiled back at me, and I returned the smile.
I got up to get a drink from the kitchen, and heard my phone ring. Junichi picked it up for me.
"Naomi's phone. Who's calling?" He asked and paused. "Oh, hold up. Hey, Naomi! Hikaru is the one you have a crush on, right? He's on the phone!" He called loudly and I sprinted into the living room. "You fucking douchebag of a dick! Shut up! Give me my phone!" I said and he stood up and reached up to where I couldn't reach.
"Junichi! Give me my phone!" I jumped and he held me back. "Naomi likes Hikaru! Naomi likes Hikaru!" He teased me and I let out a scream in frustration before kneeing him in the crotch and grabbing my phone and running away to my room as he was down.
I sighed and held the phone to my ear. "Hello?" I asked in a small voice and heard Hikaru bust out in laughter on the other end.
I groaned and held my face in my hands. "Hikaru, I'm so sorry..." I apologised. "Naomi, it's okay. I like you too." He said and my face heated up. "This is not how I planned how this would happen..." I said. "Me either, but it's happening." He said and I wanted to dig a hole and die in it.
"Go out with me. Tomorrow." He said and a huge smile broke out on my face. "Okay. When?" "How about for lunch?" He asked and I nodded. "Okay." "I'll pick you up at twelve. Be ready, Naomi." He said. "Bye, Hikaru." I whispered and hung up, going back to Juni. "I should kill you, but you just scored me a date with Hikaru, so I'll let you live." I said and he held his hand up for a highfive, which I gave him.
Holy fucking Satan...
