The next week went by smoothly and I hadn't heard much about my dad's hearing yet, so I didn't worry about it.
On Friday, I had a bag packed and left in Tamaki's limo with the others to go to a beach. Hikaru was beside me and noticed I couldn't stop touching my hair. "Your hair's different." He said. "I used a new shampoo. I fucking love it. It's so soft now." I said and he laughed a bit at me.
Tamaki reached over and slapped his hand away from me, and he glared at Tamaki. "Daddy doesn't want you touching his daughter like that." Tamaki said. "Calm down, daddy, it's just my hair." I rolled my eyes and layered on the sass.
"Oh reminding me of that, Naomi, the hearing is next week." Kyoya spoke up. "Oh thanks, I was actually wondering about that." I said. "What are you, her personal manager?" Hikaru asked and Kyoya and I looked at each and I bit my lip. "Yes." I nodded and Kyoya chuckled. "Might as well make it official." He hummed.
We got to the beach and I went up to my room while everyone was down at the beach. I wasn't in my swimsuit yet.
I got dressed and slipped on some sandals and put on a long flannel shirt and buttoned it up and plugged in my earbuds and walked down, braiding my hair into four braids and pulling them all together in one huge braid.
I set up my umbrella and a towel and sat down, staring out at the never ending water and horizon. Tamaki joined me, and we didn't say a word until I felt him touch my hair.
"You have dark hair?" He asked in confusion and I nodded. "It's showing through? Oh well." I sighed and sat with my knees up and crossed my arms over them and rested my chin on them.
"Why don't you go out? Get some sun?" He asked. "I can't. I'm photosensitive." I said and he looked lost. "I can't be in the sun." I smiled and he nodded.
"So you're like Nekozawa-senpai?" He asked and I nodded. "That must be rough." He said and I smiled. "Not really. I've always liked the dark more. Or my skin condition makes me biased." I laughed. "To me, the dark has always been more comforting. It's like a big hug all around you, while with the light, you can see all the empty space." I said and looked over at Tamaki.
"That was really poetic." He said and I grinned. "Yeah." I shrugged. "So what happens when you go out in sunlight?" He asked and I stretched out my right leg so he could see the angry red mark going up my leg from my ankle to my knee.
"Oh my God." He gasped. "Second degree burn. I got it when I was fourteen when one of my friends took me to this water park for a weekend vacation. I was out in the sun for seven hours. It was stupid of me not to say anything, but her whole family was tan, so I didn't want to speak up. My mom said it would go away after a month, but after three months, I still had it, and now I'm stuck with it for life." I smiled sadly.
(A/N: true story by the way, I don't like showing my legs anymore...)
"That's horrible." He said and I shrugged again. "I'm pretty used to it." I said and took my leg back. "Why is it only that one spot?" He asked. "I was covering the rest of my body with towels." I said and he nodded.
The twins came up and asked me to swim. I turned my music off and took off my shirt and sandals and left them on the towel. "Not too long!" Tamaki asked and I threw him a smile. "I can manage twenty minutes." I called and went in the water.
