His gun was fixated on your forehead. His face was stone cold. Tears were welled up in your eyes. His jaw was locked as he thought about what choice to make.
"Thats the best way to thank me." a stray tear fell.
*FLASHBACK*
"Its over Ward, you have a lot to explain." Coulson had him trapped in the corner with May and Skye.
You never knew he was a part of HYDRA... He'd kept that from you but besides that you still love him. You racked your brain for a solution. How do I get him out of this mess?
"Im sorry Coulson. But Hail HYD-
BANG!
"(Y/L/N)! " Fitz ran over to you as you lay there, unconscious.
They all turned around in shock while Ward made his escape. He wouldve picked you up and ran with you but you were already surrounded with SHIELD agents.
One thing was going through his mind. It was the fact that you shot yourself with an icer to save him.
"Jesus Christ (Y/N/N)... I love you so much." He covered his face with his hands and sat down in his hiding place for the night.
*PRESENT TIME*
"You know I appreciated that right?" His voice just as smooth as you remembered.
"Really? Its not very apparent now." You frowned.
He sighed.
*FLASHBACK*
"Congratulations Ward, you've done a great job at taking out Fitzsimmons. Now your job gets abit more... personal." Garrett smiled slyly.
"No. John. You're joking. You can't put me through this again." Ward ran his hand through his hair.
"But Im not joking, son. Shes a threat to HYDRA." And at that exact moment, a picture of her came up on the screen.
"All the best my boy, you can do this." He pat Ward on the shoulder.
*PRESENT TIME*
"Im sorry." He sounded genuine.
Then, there was silence.
You shut your eyes waiting for the blow when
*CRASH*
You felt yourself being embraced. You thought you were dead but opened your eyes to see your bodies intertwined. His chin rested ontop of your head and your face buried in his chest.
You missed this very much. You breathed in his scent and tightly secured your arms around him.
"Im such a fvcking idiot. Im sorry (Y/N/N)..." He had his arms around you tightly.
"I dont know how to trust you again Ward. I love you but you basically lied to me about everything." You loosened your grip and looked up at him.
You touched his face and wiped away the tears.
"I love you Grant Ward."
And you kissed him. He kissed back and it was almost as if SHIELD had never fallen and HYDRA had never existed.
But it did.
You pulled away and rested your forehead on his. Both of you breathing heavily.
"I love you too." He breathed before kissing you again.
After the kiss, he let go of you and you knew what he meant. You look at him with eyes full of sorrow.
"We'll meet again." You called out before running to the edge and jumping off to the next roof.
He just sighed as he looked at you from the distance.
Both of your hearts knowing you both want more.
