Grace's POV:
"We would always argue and mess with each other, I had the biggest crush on her ever since we were little" Jason explained to me. We sat in the living room basically going through the boxes of pictures of him and mom. They seemed like they were so in love with each other but I still don't understand why they went their separate ways. Mom and Jason are perfect example of relationship and friendship goals. Jason said they've been best friends since they were little and they still kept that friendship strong till their high school days.
"Why didn't you guys ever date?" I said.
"It's too complicated to explain, and plus she wasn't the only girl in my life and I wasn't the only guy in hers" what that's ridiculous, all mom have ever talked about was Jason she never mentioned anyone else.
"She dated someone else?"
"Nick, was his name, at first I thought she was just pretending to like him but she actually had feelings for him"
"And how did that make you feel?" He got silent. I didn't even have to know his response I knew he didn't like that Nick guy one bit.
"I was jealous because it seemed like he made her really happy and I wanted to be the only reason for her happiness" he smiled to himself. As corny as his words sounded, that's literally the sweetest thing I've heard in my life.
"Well why did you just let that Nick guy steal her away from you like that!" I lightly hit him on his arms.
"Can you stop hitting me! Sam always used to do that and it really bothers me" he whined.
"Shut up it's not like you're gonna die or something"
He mumbled something to himself but I couldn't hear him clearly.
"I couldn't control Sam's feelings, and plus I was dating Jennifer" he said. Jennifer? Damn this wasn't even a love triangle, this was a love square. How many people were involved in this.
"Was she like your side hoe or something?" I said.
"No she was my actual girlfriend, we only dated for a while but I was so obsessed with her" he smiled as he reminisced back to the past. "She was so effortlessly beautiful she literally looked like a model, I don't know how I ended up dating her"
"She must've been blind" I joked.
"Hey! I'll have you know all the girls back then used to be obsessed with me, I would pull girls from left to right" he proudly said. Congratulations dad, you're a fuckboy.
"I miss her so much" his tone of voice changed drastically. I'm assuming he was still talking about the Jennifer girl.
"Do you still talk to her?"
"I can't...she's dead" I could see his eyes starting to get watery. I sucked at comforting people. I didn't know what to do at situations like this. I hated seeing people cry, it just makes me want to cry harder.
"Ew are you gonna cry?" I said. He looked away and wiped his eyes with his sleeve.
"If you tell anyone about this I'll buy and sell you" he warned me. I don't know if I should take that as a joke or something serious, it was possible for him to buy and sell me, he's filthy rich but yet again why would he buy and sell his own child?
Our conversation was interrupted by a phone call from mom. My mistake was answering it because her yelling immediately blasted in my ears. I wanted to hang up but I knew she would most likely end my life if I do so I had no choice but to listen to her.
