Sam's POV:

After the photoshoot, Jason offered me a ride home. He pulled up to the driveway of my house.

"Today was actually the most fun I had" he said to me.

"Because I'm a fun person duh" I joked. He lightly chuckled.

"I missed hanging out with you Sam" he took a hold of my hand. "I missed you"

"I missed you too" I responded back. I found myself leaning my head in closer to his, my eyes slowly began to close, preparing myself to kiss him.

"James" I heard him say. I looked at him with confusion.

"What?"

"He's standing right there, he almost caught us" I turned my head to see James standing my the door with his arms crossed. Frustration overtook his face. Oh god.

"The devil is waiting for you" Jason said. I hit him on the side of his arm.

"Shut up" I stepped out the car and closed the door behind me. I said my goodbyes to him and watched his car sped off.

"You know you could've called me if you needed a ride home" James said as he stopped me from going inside.

"Why would I do that when Jason offered me a ride home" I fake smiled at him knowing that my response would anger him even more.

When we walked inside, James' parents were sitting in the living room. What the fuck are they doing here. James' parents has to be the most annoying and judgemental people ever. They literally critisize you for no reason. You don't even have to say anything to them, they'll automatically start talking shit about you. His parents hated me with a passion only because I wasn't the perfect smart girl for James. They expected James to be with a Harvard graduate rich girl but he got stuck with me. Ever since they met me, they look at me with disgrace and disgust.

"I see Satan and his wife is here" I greeted them and smiled. James gave me a warning look.

"Samantha! It's so nice to see you sweetie" his mom said in a cheerful voice. Okay that's not the tone I was expecting from her. She got up and gave me a big hug, I didn't bother to hug her back.

"Ew why are you being so nice to me" I said to her.

She started laughing, James' dad joined in too. "Oh Samantha you were always a funny one" the joy in her eyes were creepy. I never seen her smile this big too. She never smiles this big around me. I'm starting to think I'm in a whole new parallel universe or something because his parents would never act like this towards me.

"James can you explain to me why your parents are here" I whispered quiet enough for only James to hear and not them.

"They're here to help us plan out the wedding" he said. I wish he never told them about the engagement in the first place.

"We heard about the engagement, we're so happy the time has finally come" his mom said. So now she's happy at the fact that I'm with her son? All these years of her insulting me, she chose now to care about me? She's so fake it was actually funny.

"The wedding isn't until months from now why do y'all care so much about it" I said.

"We have to make sure everything is perfect babe" James said and gave me a kiss on my forehead. They're acting like this wedding planning is going to take centuries to do. I honestly don't even want a big wedding, as long as I'm in a wedding dress with a ring on my finger, my husband standing in front of me and the priest next to us then everything is fine with me.
